I'm really glad the front office did not jump the gun and cut or trade either of these two guys. McCareins has been the offseason star so far even earning a day off and with the Revis holdout combined with the Patriots signing of every Free Agent WR we NEED Barrett's experience. Just goes to show by not making reflex decisions are going to keep us moving in the right direction. I expect huge contributions from both of these two guys as well as from Eric Barton
It is a bit premature to start being grateful for them. I think they will both play an important role this season, but before being to high on them (McCarein's in particular) I would rather wait and see how things pan out in a couple of games first. Hopefully Barrett can stay healthy.
I'd love to see Barrett step up to the level I have seen him play in spurts in the past. As far as J-mac goes, until he brings that camp performance to the field in the regular season, I will be in a perpetual state of waiting for that guy.
Barret will have a decent season and I think personally he will be starting with Dyson and Revis playing nickel, just becuase of experience u dont want to throw a rookie into the fire...but trust he will be a good starter one day. Jmac I think we need 2 trade him, we have Brad and Stuckey who are looking great as 3rd n 4th options at wideout...
These guys were two Bradway moves, which at the time I was high on. I always thought that Donnie Henderson, who used to be great with DBs, could make something out of Barrett, and I thought that the Jmac trade would pay off for us. I feel that their progress has sort of been hindered because of the coaching changes and injuries. I thought both of them played well in 2004, and were only going to get better. I'm optimistic with the both of them.
Both players are solid players and both have been good players for us in the past, at worst they provide us w/ excellent depth and at best they are good enough to start. I am very happy we didn't get rid of either player.
i just hope Barrett has improved enough that they don't feel the need to play him 10 yards off the WR on 3rd and 6.
