There are a few guys that I want to know how they look. Guys I would really likew to make it. Wadsworth Haynes Jesse Pellot-Rosa Hicks Spencer.
I have not seen training camp but have read the training camp articles from the guys that have been to training camp Wadsworth is working with 3rd team and not on special teams, his future with the Jets is not looking good Haynes has been a beast, great speed on pass rush and great closure speed, looking to be our best pass rusher Spencer got in a huge fight with Koweleski yesterday but he has not been mentioned at all, the rest nothing has been said
I've noticed Spencer a couple of times. He seems like a fairly solid but average LB that can make some plays, but not often enough to stand out. On Wednesday, I didn't even notice Hicks at all. Pellot-Rosa has been fairly quiet, and is playing mostly with the third team... but Wright and Frisman Jackson, along with Stuckey are having better camps than him by a good margin. I had planned to go to camp today to concentrate on the offense, RB's and WR's in particular, but something came up... I'll have to wait til Monday.
I havent been to camp, but based on reports from those that have and other published reports it seems that: a) Wadsworth is still struggling a bit. Everyone likes his attitude and professionalism, but he seems to be struggling. b) Haynes has been ok, if unspectacular. c) Jesse Pellot-Rosa hurt his hand and hasnt been heard from since the first day when I believe he made some nice catches. d) Hicks seems to be the most solid of the new Vets brought in for the D line. I could see him sticking. e) Spencer seems to be the guy who is making the most head way in camp. He has been noted for making some big hits on guys, making good plays in coverage and in general taking advantage of the opportunity he's getting because of the injury to Chatham. I think he could replace Chatham as an occasional sub for Hobson and as the ST captain.
I believe Pelot-Rosa was on the field Wednesday, and where ever you got that tidbit on Haynes is flat out wrong. He's having a monster camp. Hicks? Hasn't gotten a single snap with the first team (for a fact unless he did yesterday), and I don't remember seeing him with the second team D either. Yes, Spencer has made some plays, but big hits more than big plays. He's probably better than Chatham though.
