No, you mainly posted repetitive gibberish for 5 years.

But I digress. I'm not going to turn mezz's thread into a flamewar for the likes of you.

One more post like this in this thread and you are getting two weeks off for thread hijacking. Let it go, Champ.

How was he so wrong on Herm, if the Chiefs traded away a pick just to have them as their coach?

I don't get your logic. Herm took us to the playoffs fairly consistently over his 5 seasons. That's pretty decent for a franchise that is not known for winning.

And believe it or not, as Mezz knows (and I am just starting to find out being a coach myself), winning a championship is not as easy as you perceive it to be. Most of the time a championship team just takes pure luck. Pure luck that all the players are playing well at the same time, pure luck that you don't have key injuries (or players are able to come in and adequately replace the injured player), and pure luck that everything seems to go the right way.

Why do you think some of the greatest players (Dan Marino) and teams ('05 Colts, '98 Vikings, '04 Steelers) did not win championships? Luck was just not on their side.

Then the Niners, Boys & Steelers with 5 Championship each had zillion times more luck then the NYJs is that what you are saying? The Skins & Pats with 3 Championship each only had billion times more luck then the NYJs do is that what you are saying?

As for KC there patience will be much less & he will be history much quicker then here. Now somewhere deep in my NYJ history log I remember a owner named Leon Hess who hired a HC named Rich Kotex & I am sure you know the outcome of that marriage. Owners are usually not the worlds smartest people & if you want more try Wanny & the Dolphins for even more confirmation of owners talents as evulators

Wow, if this isn't proof enough that CJ69 is off his rocker then I don't know what is.

For the newbies and those who might not remember let's look at the facts and you make the call.

On the one side we have Mezz, an ex-football player with friends around the league yet according to CJ has no football knowledge.

On the other side we have the man who not only never played football, but has a mysterious system that never works unless you want it to tell you things that most 2 year olds could guess with 90% accuracy. A man who thinks Vilma is average and wouldn't know a meaingful fact or logic if it hit him in the face.

Hmmm, which one would you think knows more about football, the guy who actually played or the one who tapes a lot of Jets games and doesn't even bother watching if he heard we lost. Silly me, I think I'll vote for Mezz

Funny reading through this and seeing so many of the good old names, kind of like a college reunion.

And like any college reunion, there's one doofus who shows up and spills his beer all over you... now WHO could that be????

I wouldn't be saying something like that concerning a former player, one of the most intelligent we have on this board.

He he he he...Dwalsh has his rights too...no worries though...and believe it or not, after the last 3 or 4 months I'll take champ's sarcasm any day of the week and twice on Wednesday! LOL Although, Dwalsh...you will notice the date I joined and how many posts I have...I was never considered a post whore...just added info. when it was needed or I felt spry on that day.

Alright, to keep this a football thread I want to address some of the questions about Cutler...you see...here's the thinking...and someone mentioned previously he has elevated his team because of the lack of talent around him...but understand that this is a mindset. Sometimes it takes an incredible amount of time to UN-LEARN! Cutler needs to learn that he doesn't HAVE to do it all himself to be good...Let's look at Michael Vick. He STILL performs like he feels he HAS to do it all himself at times and that hurts the Falcons. I worry that Cutler may come in and do the same...

Sure, this guy has the intangibles. Good leader, presence, football smarts...the tangibles...strong arm, good feet, decent release...but it is his mind that I question. Can he forget that he has teammates around him that can and will help him...not force throws...pull down and run when he should wait the second longer...I guess time will tell.

I can't get a sense of where the Jets are going at 4. And I love it! I love the new cloak and dagger regime...gives us soooo much more to talk about on the good ole' Gang Green.

Oh, and Champ...while I said I liked Herm as a coach and a motivator...even I commented on his lack of experience and X's and O's...and even YOU have to admit...having been such a looooooonnnngggg time Jets fan...that he was head and shoulders over Coslett and the Kotite's that have plagued this franchise over the last 20 years...sheeshhhhh....

Personally, I move all the way up to 1...take Bush...take my chances with Ramsey and opt for Quinn next year. A Reggie bush and a possibly healthy Chad or Ramsey evens out the equation of Leinart, now that I think about it. Also, load up on OL and a couple DL in the draft...and get one under the radar stud receiver...although, given the chance I think Cotchery could be more than he was being utilized.

    Peace!!!!

    The Mezz!

Good to see you here, especially with some of the egghead comments (on this thread in particular)

Well, everyone would love Reggie Bush on their team, but wouldn't you think the trade to get into that position end up costing the JETS the picks that they'd need to restock on lineman? That 1st overall pick won't come cheap.

The cost may be too great IMO.

great post man. I agree with a lot of your idea, not that i have seen what you post i understand why people were glad to have you back. Much more insightful than a lot of stuff on the boards. I like what you said about Cutler, i hadnt thought about that.

I have been saying all along that Cotchery could be a good reciever, and that i would love to draft Quinn next year.

I also love the "cloaks & daggers" that you were talking about; no one knows what they're going to do, they havent even official announced Von Oelhoffen, Chatham, or Ramsey. IMO, they have down a lot of smoke-screening and should be in great position come draft day.
