I saw this on SNY when it originally aired a month ago (and maybe also on this site...there was definitely discussion about it). It's funny, when you READ what he said he sounds pissed off and disgruntled, but when you see him actually saying the same thing, it's clear he's just having some fun with it.
yeah i don't read anything at all into this. lc is a team player and shows up on game day and that's all you can ask.
I think that's the way it's been with every interview I've seen where he's painted as 'disgruntled.' Just reporters making a paycheck for themselves.
I don't like his comments there....he should be saying the same sort of thing that VIlma does.....I really don;t like those comments...
I don't mind his comments because...HE IS THERE! Alot of people might think he isn't being a good leader by saying those things, but think about it... Even though he may not want to be there...and may not want to work so hard...he shows up to work every single day. That in my opinion is leadership...it doesn't always have to be someone like Vilma saying the right things.... Coles is leading the guys who may not want to be there...it is important and he understands that.
coles realizes it's his last season with the jets, he better produce instead of blaming penny. we got cotch, smith and if justin gives us a solid season, bye-bye coles.
rofl you make him sound like mccareins. coles is probably the best player on this team. you can debate that with rhodes but coles is proven and known throughout the league. if anything his time is up because of penny. getting him fuckin killed over the middle repeatedly last yr.
Great point. A lot of guys probably don't like the extremely difficult work, but show up because they know it will help them win. Coles is a guy that always shows up for work and is a fierce competitor. This could be a message to the younger guys that don't like the hard work either.
Coles defenetly is an extremly valuable player an without him our recieving core would go from beeing extremly solid to very questionable.. Penny was getting coles killed last year an at least coles would sacrifice his body/career to catch the "floaters". I think coles can argueable be a top ten reciever epicially if he had a tom brady throwing to him.
I agree. He is a complainer. With Coles it is always "I am not complaining but.." It would be nice to hear him saying something more like "I want to be here bc I want to be the best I can be".
Really, I don't see what the big deal is. He's speaking the truth. No one wants to run around on a really hot summer day but they do it anyway because they know that it will make them better. That's what being a professional is all about.
Hes being a little sarcastic. At the end of the day its a job , afterall he would be off on vacation soon , so hes putting in some 'hard yards' before then. I like his attitude , and please don't compare him to Vilma
I can?t find the Vilma OTAs interview Video on the Jets page anymore, but i remember him saying somthing like that when he was asked about coles complayning: "Just don?t listen to Laveranues, he also enjoys hanging around with the team." and then he laughed. It just seems, that noone is taking it really serious, when coles complaines about stuff like that. I mean, he?s a great WR, they seem to have to be like that:lol:. maybe someone can find the Video.
Some people are just negative and complain alot. Since I'm one of them Coles' comments have never really bothered me. Coles has been with the Jets long enough that fans should "know" him by this point and not read too much into his "complaining". I'm sure his teammates know him well enough not to be bothered or effected by it either. Coles saying something positive would be about as jarring to me as Pennington saying something negative about the team.
Its not the video you want , but watch and LISTEN to what Vilma says , especially the last 10 seconds. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6mNrSjR38cg
theres always players that bitch. ALWAYS. whether its while your walking out to the practice field or in the weight room. it happens thing that makes his excerpts matter even less. THE GUY ALWAYS PRODUCES. his on field performance resembles him of having a ray lewis mindset at the WR position. point in case. i hope chad doesnt get him another concussion.
