Report: Lavar Arrington injured in crash FROM NEWSDAY.com June 18, 2007, 3:28 PM EDT Media outlets in Washington have reported that former Giants linebacker LaVar Arrington was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident Monday near Washington's Capital Beltway. Fire officials told the WTOP Radio that Arrington was listed in serious condition, but no other details about the injuries were immediately available. According to WUSA-TV, the former No. 2 overall draft pick in 2000 was driving his motorcycle on the Rt. 50 off-ramp to the Beltway when the crash occurred. The location of the crash is less than two miles from FedEx Field near Landover, Md., where Arrington played for the Washington Redskins for the first six years of his career. Arrington signed a seven-year, $49-million deal with Giants last summer, but the team released him in February after he had played just six games. Arrington's season ended on Oct. 23 when he tore his Achilles tendon against Dallas.
How come these accidents only happen to football players? Dont baseball, basketball, and hockey players ride hogs too?
A little off topic, but it really doesn't seem like it's been 7 years since he was drafted. I remember all the hype surrounding him when he came out....too bad he could never live up to his potential. What a waste
Report: Lavar Arrington injured in crash THE ASSOCIATED PRESS Email this story Printer friendly format June 18, 2007, 4:23 PM EDT Former Redskins and Giants linebacker LaVar Arrington was hospitalized with serious but not life-threatening injuries after his motorcycle crashed on a highway ramp, police said. Arrington lost control and hit a guardrail, Maryland State Police Sgt. Russell Newell said. Arrington, who turns 29 Wednesday, was wearing a helmet and alcohol was not involved in the accident, Newell said. Arrington was issued two citations -- one for operating the motorcycle without a proper license, and one for the crash itself. Washington drafted Arrington No. 2 overall in 2000, and he made three Pro Bowl appearances while with the Redskins. But he injured his knee in 2004, his playing time decreased, and Arrington bought out his contract after the 2005 season. He then joined the Giants but was injured in October and played only six games last season. New York released him in February. http://www.newsday.com/sports/footb...0619,0,6632064.story?coll=ny-sports-headlines
waiiiiittt.... bad things happen to clients of the Postons. Remember Winslow Jr.? He crashed his motorcycle with Carl and Kevin representing him. Then LaVar, who has been represented by them
Apparently it's a broken arm and a broken leg. That sucks. LaVar's stint as a Giant wasn't exactly memorable, but it's hard not to like the dude, even when he was a Redskin.
Jay Williams the basketball player from Duke hit a tree while riding a motorcycle and the injuries from the accident ended his career...
If you notice, all of the serious accidents have been players riding sportbikes... not hogs. If you don't respect a bike that does nearly 200mph then you have absolutely no business riding one IMO.
