Think that this may change the Jets drafting plans? weather was cold & windy and he completed 44 of 45 passes
For those of you too lazy to click the link: Cutler throws well at Pro Day Click here to find out more! NFL.com wire reports NASHVILLE, Tenn. (March 17, 2006) -- Jay Cutler displayed his skills at both the Senior Bowl in January and at the NFL Combine last month. On March 17, the quarterback showed a little bit more at Vanderbilt's Pro Day on a cold, windy day. Working with his own receivers, Erik Davis and Marlon White and tight end Dustin Dunning, Cutler looked at ease, making mostly strong crisp throws with timing and plenty of arm strength despite less than ideal conditions with temperatures in the mid 40s and a steady breeze. Jay Cutler built off a solid career at Vanderbilt with a great workout. Jay Cutler built off a solid career at Vanderbilt with a great workout. The Southeastern Conference player of the year was watched by scouts from 25 NFL teams. He is pegged as a Top 10 pick, one of three quarterbacks who will go high. Matt Leinart of Southern California and Vince Young of Texas are the others. Cutler said the workout was comfortable. "I've had a good time with these guys. I know their speed and know where they're going to be in their routes, and I know they were going to catch it for me," Cutler said. "It was cold, and the ball was real hard. But it was fun. There's been a lot of anticipation up to this point. But now I can just relax and start working out again." The Tennessee Titans, who have the third overall pick, had a contingent watching Cutler that included general manager Floyd Reese, offensive coordinator Norm Chow and quarterbacks coach Craig Johnson. The Titans staff already knows Cutler well after having coached him at the Senior Bowl. "I just wanted to see him on a day like today with it being a little bit colder than it was down there in Mobile have the same type of day and make all the throws that are necessary to make," Johnson said. Reese came away impressed as well. "He threw the ball well. I think you saw a variety of things. He threw the ball on the run and under a little bit less than ideal conditions," Reese said. "He came today and performed, and I can't imagine too many quarterbacks performing better than he did today."
Cutler at 4 after we just picked up Ramsey..I don't know..I think we have to pass my opinion unless we trade down a bit..
Ramsey is here on a 1yr deal. also all reports have said the ramsey trade wont effect the jets decision to draft a qb @4
our team isn't as interested in him as you guys all think...trust me on that one (and no way would we take him at #4)
Is the throwing under pressure! Most QB can throw the pill when there's no 6'3 - 300 pounder is trying to nock your block off!
I havent thought that we were going to draft him, especially at #4. But if we trade down a few spots and Cutler continues to impress i owuldnt be mad with the pick. If Tangini thinks that Cutler will be the man for the Jets, than I have faith in them. I was just saying that had a great pro day.
OBVIOUSLY we aint takin cutler.................i wud luv to have leinart but its just not gunna happen i dont think after today
The one thing about Cutler, he has really been on a role. Hs anything negative come out about him? BTW: When do Matt Lienart and Vince Young have their pro days? It will be interesting to see how their workouts compare to Cutler's.
That remains to be seen. Cutler has never taken a snap in the NFL. We will see how good/bad the kid really is soon.
Agreed. Ramsey is a backup plan for Chad or a bargaining chip for Schaub. If we draft Cutler, Ramsey is gone this time next year. Who's got more bourbon?
Dude! If you think you can land Cutler and trade down... wow, I want whatever you're smoking. This guy is far better than Alex Smith and his stock has only risen. I'm betting the Titans pull the upset and take him over Leinart, which is where the whole trade up rumor got started in the first place. I grasp the logic of trading down... just not expecting to get Cutler in the process. If you pull that baby off, your braintrust may be the youngest to create a dynasty.
