Well we got Ramsey. Cheap too. Like yard-sale cheap. Anywho, there are quite a few processes that are in question now. First off, are we still trying to pry Schaub from Atlanta? Second, do we draft a QB now in the second through seventh rounds, because I doubt very much we'll go for one in the first. Or do we even draft one at all? Any thoughts, because I have no idea.

maybe we're trying to get schaub, who knows right now. I'm just as confused.

I just don't see falcons parting with schaub.

Maybe we drqaft a qb in later rounds which is fine with me.

I think ramsey is a one year rental honestly, because i think he's just a guy brought in because chad probably won't be ready for week one...again. Therefore i still think they should draft cutler because we lack a long term solution

Yeah but you think they take another risk at qb?

Paying that much for an unproven i mean.

He's def. a rental, he's gonna get smashed, but he can take it.

I don[t think we're after Schaub now, I think we may still take a QB at #4, but now we don't ahve to. It just gives us more options. Ramsey really is nothing more than a one year stopgap with decent upside. It's really nice to have that kind of player, a lot of flexibility there. We get to audition him for a year before we decide if we want to do anything with him.

    Too risky, we shouln't do it,pick a qb w/4th.

We will be 4-12 or 5-11 next year so we can draft a qb next year if they don't do it this year.

Doesn't the front office seam really conservative now more than ever? That's why they won't pick cutler w/4th.

I think they will sign Ramsey to a long term contract, even if he is just a back-up. They might still be going after Schaub since they seem to be high on him. But they might not push so hard and find different compensation. I doubt we go QB in the first, most likely get on in the later rounds or nexxt year. I think Bollinger might be on his way out.

I think you hit it they sign Ramsey and he is our No. 2 for the next several years. He may be the defualt No. 1 this year depending on who we draft and how far they come along.

We could still go QB with our first pick particularly if we get a 1 for Abe. If you believed we needed a franchise QB this really doesn't change that it just gives us a solid #2.

Personally, I think this pretty much guarantees that we'll draft either D'brick or Mario. We'll need either desperately, once the Abe deal goes down. It's a boring pick, kinda, because it won't get as much ink as the team that gets Leinart, Bush, Young, etc., but we are rebuilding and you gotta start in the trenches first. Probably the smart move.

Maybe we go Brodie Croyle in the 2nd round?

I wouldn't be dissapointed with that. Penny, Ramsey, Croyle are all solid QBs.

I would like to take Brodie. The only problem is I don't think he'd make it to our round. I have a feeling he'll be a late late 1st rounder.

    Call me insane but...

I have a feeling that either Young or Cutler is going to plummet. Maybe even to our pick in the second round.

    Ya You're right, I'm nuts.

It would be annoying, but I've gotten used to you stealing my thoughts before I can write them, winston!

Say what you will, but I think the Jets FO has a much higher opinion of Ramsey than many people here do, or they wouldn't have kept pursuing him. I think they view him exactly the way the Jets viewed Fiedler last year - a solid #2 who can compete with Pennington and even replace him if necessary. Someone to lead the team to the Super Bowl? No. Someone who could lead a decent team to the playoffs? Yes.

And I also agree that this signing doesn't in any way preclude drafting a QB in the first round - if anything, it could make it more likely, since while Schaub might have been viewed as the Jets QB of the future, Ramsey is not.

Unless we cut Bollinger, our QB lineup is done.
    Ramsey
    Penny
    Bolly
    -or-
    Penny
    Ramsey
    Bolly

Dont draft a qb this year. Stick with chad and ramsey. If both stink it up and we win 2 games go for brady quinn in the next draft. If chad returns to form, hold off drafting a qb until 2008

I think we're poised to take a QB in the first round the way things are shaping up...I bet they trade Bolly on draft day for a late pick
