We'll keep him as long as he has a role on the team.

    Ummmm...they released NICHOLSON...not Nickerson

He is a 5th round draft pick....

I predict champ will not post again in this thread...

I really hope Mangini or the NFL doesnt suspend him, even though I think he deserves it.

He is a dangerous kick returner and we need good starting field position in our first 2 games vs. New England and at Baltimore (in my opinion, 2 of the top 3 defenses along with San Diego in the entire league). If we dont get good starting field position on our kick returns, it will be hard to go 80 yards to get TDs vs those great defenses...so lets pray he isnt suspended

For starters, the Jets can't suspend him. They do not have the power. Can they declare him inactive for a game or 2, giving a psuedo suspension? Yes, but by the CBA, they can't suspend him (only the nfl can). They also can't cut him (solely because of this arrest), per the CBA, but that rule people get around

Why can't they cut him because he sucks so bad we traded up to get his replacement?

cause miller is the kick returner in the league not named Devin Hester. In fact I debated someone that hes even better due to his higher average and more consistent field position as opposed to a few td's here and there. and with someone like chad who gives you long grueling drives, field position is all the more important.

either way kick returners dont grow on trees, no use making Revis take the injury risk.

also aside from miller's lackluster play he should still get one more year beforee hes officially labeled a bust at CB.

either way i think hed be great as a nickelback covering less athletic recievers on short to intermediate routes being that the deep ball is his weakness.

It's Nicholson not Nickerson. How can you say he's a better player when he has played only two games in the NFL.

He probably gets suspended one game...The bengals situation is completely different Nicholson was the 9th ill repeat the 9th players on there team to get into trouble. So they had to make an example in the organization that there behavior is not acceptable so they mad him the scapegoat..
