NY TIMES; Karen Crouse: "He added that the Jets felt comfortable with the weekend. “We feel good about what we’ve accomplished,” Tannenbaum said. Which is not to say there is no room for improvement. “We do have some free agents we’re trying to sign,” Tannenbaum said. Borrowing a line used earlier in the day by Mangini, Tannenbaum said: “We’re the land of opportunity. If you weren’t drafted, you’ll be hearing from us.”
Linebacker, Mark Zalewski, Wisconsin Fullback, Jesse Allen, Virginia Tech Runningback, Kyle Steffes, North Dakota State via Jets Central.
I hope Stocco is one and can beat out Tuiasosucko for the 3rd spot at QB. Stocco's scouting report does indicate a firmer grip on the clipboard than Tuiasosucko. Less fumbling of the 'board. Also a bit nimbler, so he can get out of the way quicker when coaches are running up and down the sidelines.
The first sentence is great. "We?re the land of opportunity....." These are good times to be Jets fans
Agreed. I'm firmly behind the two men leading our franchise. On Zalewski, "leader" and "mentor" are used to describe him. Not surprised. Also "well-built frame" with a structure that can add another 15-20 pounds. Good straight-line speed and quick to react, good urgency to the ball.
Compares To: James Darling, Arizona ? Zalewski has a low center of gravity and very good closing speed ? He has the experience to play inside in a 4-3 alignment, but his ability to string plays wide could see him more capable playing out on the strong side in a 3-4 defense

Ok, after watching the highlight reel, I'm officially on the Leonard Peters welcome wagon...he Looks fun.
Kyle Steffes, RB, North Dakota State Jessie Allen, FB, North Dakota State Mark Zalewski, LB, Wisconsin Brett Ratliff, QB, Utah Leonard Peters, SS, Hawaii Andrew Wicker, OL, Ole Miss Full list to date afaik.
Ok, that quote has me pumped. Peters plays like Troy Polamalou...all over the place (and both have crazy hair).
What is the love affair with all these big ten linebackers? I want linebackers from the speed states..California, Texas and Florida.
