By Jets' trading up & drafting DT Branch, D-Rob then moves to DE. This one

move gives Jets' 2/3's of DL up front. ILB's are now protected. This 1 move

creates such a dynamo & upgrade to the defense. Its a natural no-brainer.

Tangini & Jets' have to be looking to put there stamp on team in this there

2nd draft. They need a jewel that they can build around & Branch is that

center piece. I can also see them going for Carriker & lastly Joe Thomas, but

I don't think they would trade up just to draft Thomas. He isn't a franchise

Tackle. RB - Adrian Peterson & DE - Jamal Anderson are also posssibilities.

But Branch would be the centerpiece for the Jets' defense for a few years.

I like the idea about Branch; moving over Robertson is cool with me. Carriker I'm a big fan of, same with Anderson. Don't get Peterson/Thomas at all though.

Honestly, usually I don't agree with your posts, but you're right on about Branch here. Giving up a 2nd rounder to trade up and draft Branch could potentially improve production from 2 of our 3 best defensive players (Vilma and Robertson). That is well worth trading away a late 2nd rounder

yea exactly...those comments were pretty worthless run n gun
...and joe thomas is a franchise tackle...and rated higher than ours
but outside of that...i would give up a 2nd to get branch, but i would also give up a 3rd or a 2nd for randy moss

Branch reminds me a lot of William Joseph. he was rated high, then was said to be lazy and not a hard worker and dropped a little bit.

trust me, you guys dont want another William Joseph

I have a feeling Branch is going to be a bust... Stress fractures plus not much of a work ethic. However, on paper physically, he looks like a good fit.

The problem i have, because in theory it certainly makes sense, is that when any expert is asked who the most likely to be a bust is, it's always Alan Branch. Always. It's a combination of his lack of motor, injuries(shins), and taking off plays that scare me. He has the size and strength to be a great one though.

    exactly

Jimmy Kennedy , Damione Lewis are other top 5 players players that fell right before the draft and didnt do anything for their careers. Teams know something about Branch and I will respect their opinion and not take this guy. Did the Jets ever interview this guy? I am sure they would interview him before they would take him.

see there are only a handful of guys i would trade up for in this draft, one of them (CJ) we don't have the ammo to get, we don't have needs at other positions (joe thomas, Laron landry, either QB) so that leaves us with Adam Carriker. I think Carriker is going to be stellar in this league, and aversly i think Branch will be horrible, however i think for us to get Carriker we have to leapfrog the Niners at 11, they are supposedly coveting him like no one other than the bucs coveting CJ.

I agree. He's the only one I would want to move up for. Problem is that would take a player(s) and our pick. I'm not sure whether d-rob or vilma would suit anybody that high in the draft who we would be trying to trade with.

That would be great for the DL, but i'll be happy enough if we land soliai in the third. def want a NT in the first 3 rounds. D-Rob needs out of that position, he's a DE

I'm not so sure D Rob can be a full time DE. 6'1 317 lbs is far from a typical DE. End has to cover a lot more space, and what kind of pass rush moves does D Rob have? If he can handle the position, great.
