Depends what kind of football you like. Personally, I think that the Ravens game will be one of the best of the season. Then again, if you like high-school style slinging football with the occasional running play here and there, this will definately be an extremely boring game.

Now I know this arguement has been beaten to death, but second half numbers is all that I have to say. You can't say it for other teams because there actually was a big difference in our play in the second half of last season. Our defense improved a lot. Throw in the McGahee factor and this will be a great game. It really is too early to be calling scores but I can't resist on this one, so I'm expecting 17-13 Ravens.

The Jets oftentimes ran the ball with maddening regularity last season and did control the clock. Maybe not extraordinarily due to blown plays and young and inexperienced linemen and backs (and a no-heart acquisition named Barlow), but he's not really going that far overboard. The clock control last season was close to what we had with Parcells, even if the did not always make it pay off. And passing was a problem later in the season, so setting up the pass to move the chains and get in a good rotation of plays to get the players in a rhythm.

It's not out of the realm of possibility to think that they could take the next step in that department. They took a few rapid steps during the season.

I would say this article is for the Rubes who love Payton or the Rams and have no idea about defensive football, give me a defensive struggle any day of the week as a chess match over long TDs and high risk offense. If I liked that i would watch CFL, which I do not

Your right, the "D" had it's problems stopping people, espcially NE but that was because Belly knew what he was facing. Still, in it's first year I thought it showed signs of things to come. Imagine what will happen when the right personell get brought in?! The 2nd year should most definitely improve. I'm looking foward to seeing the Jets "D" become formidable especially when we get the big middle guy. This isn't Herm's cover who, Mangini knows his weaknesses and will adapt when neccessary.
