I watched him walk all over the national champions and was singing his song after he singlehandedly beating USC. But after the mass hysteria has gone away, his hopes of being not only the #1 pick but now even just a top 5 pick have went away. Hard to believe the kid we were all hyped about will not only be there at #4 but he most likely won't be picked until #7.

A month ago if you would have said we could drop down 3 spots in the draft and still get Young, I would have said your crazy using a few choice words.

Yet what a difference a bad test and a few trades can make in the life known as the NFL. Call me crazy but a would rather have Young at #4 over Cutler and I totally don't like the idea of trading up to get Matt. Trading up has never been something I felt the Jets should do. Trade down, hell yes, but not give away draft picks to move up.

We are rebuilding, and every pick is needed. The last two times we moved up in the first round were for Moss who did nothing for the Jets, and Robertson who still is doing nothing.

If we could trade down 1 or 2 spot, Vince would be a great value. So why not trade Abe and pickup a RB with the pick and get Vince with our 1st round pick?

Vince stock has dropped partially because of the FA signings, but also due to a couple of things VY is directly responsible for. 1) I have said all along I don't want him. I am not convinced he will be any more than a Vick-style QB who throws a bit more often, and that's doesn't win Super Bowls. 2) He had the opportunity to erase the Wonderlic issue by taking the test again, but he only managed a 16 after the initial 6. This says one of either 2 things. 1) He is not as intelligent as he was once billed, or 2) he took a lazy attitude and screwed off on the test twice. Either way, a very bad move on his part.

I don't like Leinhart much at all, but I would take him before Young. If we are set on a QB in the draft, I would want either Cutler at 4, or Croyle later.

Vince Young is a good pick. Vince Young with a chip on his shoulder for falling in the draft is that much better.

Unless the Jets take a QB with number 4 I doubt Vince or Cutler will go until Arizona picks with number 10. Vince might even drop out of the top 15.

NO will most likely take Williams and than Tenn will take Leinart. The Jets will then have a choice of Brick, Hawk, Cutler or Young.

If the jets don't take a QB there is not another team in the top 16 besides Arizona that need a QB. The only one that might consider a QB would be the Raiders, Lions and Ravens.

If NO trades the pick then Tennessee most likely takes Cutler we have our choice and then the free fall happens for Young.

Without a NO trade, Young may end up going 17th to the Viking with a trade he probably will go at 10 to the Cardinals.

There are quite a few mock drafts showing us picking him up at #4 now with all of the quarterback signings. I just hope it holds up, I would really like to see Young as a Jet.

As long as he performs on the field at the NFL level, that is all that matters.

Young wouldn't get past Oakland. My bet is they take a QB whether its Young or Cutler.

Have you been paying attention to what's been going on in the NFL lately?

I have to agree with my buddy Lee Corso - who whatever you think of him has seen a lot of college football - that an NFL GM would be crazy to pass on Young.

The question is not if but when Vince leads somebody to a Super Bowl. He doesn't just throw and run. He leads. He had his teammates practicing 7-on-7 every day in the offseason. The guy was practically the co-head coach this year.

If a coach is very hands-on and controlling, that is not a good fit for Vince. He needs somebody who will let him be himself. It likely will include his leading off the field as well as on. That is the kind of driven competitor Vince is, which is why I am not surprised in the least that he led Texas to its first championship in 35 years.

Vince's stock will be back up by draft day. He's almost as strong as Culpepper, he's faster than McNabb and he is a MUCH better passer than Vick. My guess is that by the draft Cutler's stock will have come back down to earth. If Young is there at four we will probably be fielding offers from teams to move up.
