Must be something with USC and the Jets. Bush said he wanted to be a Jet the day before he won the Heisman. I say do it. He wants to be here. I'm kind of hoping we don't get Shaub and go for Leinart. Of course their are cons to the move, but the best way to build is around a franchise QB. We may not have the chance to draft one for a while, the only one I see in next year's draft is Brady Quinn and we may not be in position to draft him. Make it happen Tanny!
We could sign Brad Hopkins, whos a solid tackle, we have three other solid lineman in Kendall, Moore, and Jones, we just need a center or left guard, which we can get in draft or free agency.
people don't question Vince Young's arm...people question Matt's arm. people question Young's mechanics...not arm.
Leinart was outplayed by Texas and Vince Young in the Rose Bowl enough said.Either way we win Young or Leinart.
True but if you check the stats he had a pretty good game. I dont think it was Matt Leinart's fault that USC loss
That is precisely why I do not want to trade up. At #4 we are guaranteed a pretty darn good chance at a very promising QB. I don't even really want to bring in a FA QB either. We go with what we have and use the draft.
I agree like i said either way we win.If i had my choice id take Young but i wont argue with Leinart.Lets just keep our fingers crossed we get one of them. Many want Cutler but i dont think he will be the franchise we desperately need.
Not to disrespect this statement, but Reggie Bush had a very poor game for Reggie Bush. He even made some stupid mental decisions. He certainly was a contributor to USC's loss. It wasn't all on Matt.
Pennington,Bollinger and Young or Leinart good enough for me.I disagree with wasting any draft picks on another qb.
2006 Rose Bowl USC Passing C/ATT YDS TD INT Leinart 29/40 365 1 1 This byno means is a bad game. Dont worry greenhornet i wasnt alluding to you
Lets face it Leinart is the pretty boy fun in the sun qb.Young is more blue-collar smash mouth type player.Either way we get a winner.
no QB this year. Brady Quinn or Brian Brohm next year... Trade for Schaub, have him compete with Pennington for the starting job this year. Re-sign him for a few more years, then have him hand the reigns over to Quinn/Brohm in '08
you dont build teams banking on prospects next year. by the next year i would bet would like to have the qb position settled.
I think Mangini would be crazy to not go after Leinart with this opportunity. We would only be giving away 1 player & our #4 or the draft pick that we get for that player to get our franchise QB. When was the last time we were in a position to do that. The last time was when we "passed" on Marino and took Ken Obrien. If we trade for Schuab just to save a draft pick, this would be just another Jet move and we will never become anything but the franchise we have always been. If we want to save the pick, and get a stronger arm, I'm sure Cutler will definentally be sitting there at #4 now.
