    Question:

    What is so virtuous about living a life of abstinence? Aren't we all human, and our #1 basic instincts are to survive and reproduce?

    I believe the message is one of basing a sexual relationship on a solid personal relationship - abstinence is promoted in the sense that wonton sex is discouraged in order to promote self respect and respect for others and, also, to prevent transmission of disease. Yes I agree part of being a human being is to have instincts to survive and reproduce, but it is how we go about it - with dignity, respect and in a civilized manner is what separates us from the rest of the animal kingdom. It's refreshing to see an organization like this after reading all the crap that many athletes get themselves involved in.

    James Dearth probably has a really hard time finding someone to have sex with considering he is the reincarnation of Sloth from The Goonies.
