It should be Eric Smith. He was a great find in the 3rd round, he has the ability to be one of the best strong safties in the NFL.
Undrafted guy...Stacy Tutt at FB.. He looked pretty good in preseason last year, and when they called him up. Barnes is more of a blocker, and I think Tutt will be used in more of a H-back role, catching out of the backfield.
Brad Smith will be used more and have an impact this year. If we don't draft a WR I could see him at the #3 all season.
Smith gonna be a jet for a long time. xman is threat anywhere on the field..i dont see how you think he is gonna be gone.. when the jets love the guy.
Not only is he a smart, versatile player, he's also becoming quite the player on special teams. He might not master any position, but the reason that he's on the team in the first place is all the things he can do for the team. Smith is a guy who'll be with the Jets for a long time.
Look at this thread. We are debating over 6-7 rookies. That was an amazing draft last season. I think Mangold has all-pro written all over him, but like others have said, Smith will be unleashed on the NFL this year. It's time for a wr pass to Cotch vs the Pats.
A second year player of sorts that I expect to emerge is Wallace Wright at CB. Don't be hugely surprised if he is the starting corner by the end of 2007 campaign.
