That would be a monumental task. There are way too many holes on both sides of the line to just fill in Free agency.

By fill he must mean that he just wants to get a body there and then upgrade in the draft with the BPA philosophy. If he is using that logic then they have the D-line covered and need serious work on the right side of the O-line.

That is the only thing that makes sense, the logic of filling the need (ex. K. Coleman, Barnes, and Hamilton) with a serviceable player and then upgrade via the draft. Makes sense I guess, it would allow them have more lattitude with the BPA approach.

We will see what Barnsy is about come TC. His CV leaves alot to be desired , but if Mr Mangini says hes good enough who are we to argue?

I have never read the FO's opinion of him. And considering they don't talk to the media about anything, I am not sure how any beatwriter would know.

But, IMO, Moore is overrated by many people here. He had so many penalties called against him last year I lost count. And he really didn't open up many holes for the run game. He can definitely be upgraded. The only reason they keep him around, IMO, is because they don't have any one else, and there are other positions in need of immediate attention. But I would not be surprised if he is gone in the next year or 2, especially considering Mangini's focus on discipline and Moore's numerous penalties.

Ummm ok, did you even read what I wrote? I said, IMO, the reason he is around is because there are positions of bigger concern at the moment. And how do you know the FO hasn't been looking at OGs. Are you in on the meetings?

And believing what any beatwriter says about this FO is foolish. They don't let anyone know anything. How many beatwriters knew about the Thomas trade until a few hours before it happened?

The fact of the matter is Moore is average on a good day. It seemed like every game last year, Moore had multiple holding and offsides penalties. He was the most penalized Olineman last year. He is supposed to be a vet and he gets called more than the two rookies on the line. Add to that he is not all that great in the run game. After looking at the RT, you have to look at the OGs when evaluating the run blocking. Moore can be easily upgraded, even if people on this board love him, and with Mangini's focus on discipline and Moore's tendency for penalties, it is only a matter of time.

The FO seem to like Stacey Tutt so it's just another competition in training camp. If Tutt improves his blocking then this is just another depth signing.

Yea I think were lookin in FA to get an RT and I see us drafting a big run blocking right guard that can compete with Moore and maybe even become the starter.

So under the system that Schotty wants to run the fullback is more run block oriented? is this guy supposed to have better hands than Askew(who was pretty decent IMO as a pass catcher)? Or is this guys a blocker only like Lorenzo Neal?

regardless, I'm sure Barnes is a better option and cheaper than a draft pick like, say, that guy from Piscataway. I'm all for this signing, In Tangini i trust
