Jets | Bowens leaves empty handed Thu, 8 Mar 2007 07:12:01 -0800 Armando Salguero, of the Miami Herald, reports unrestricted free-agent DL David Bowens (Dolphins) left a visit with the New York Jets without a contract.
Bowens Newsday reported today that the Jets are still talking with him and his agent. We'll see. Always nice to add depth, especially on the D line where we desperately need it.
Depth is OK if you have players that can disrupt the other side O. If you do not then it is valueless
Is this guy gonna be depth or a starter? If he's looking for starter-type money then let him keep looking. Jets money can be better spent at this point.
Well that would be terrific if we could pull off that feat. All I am saying there are backups & then lower class backups & then lower, lower class then bottom of the barrel backups like Kimo & Ham
Kimo is putrid, he's lower than bottom of the barrel. I agree with Champ, Bowens is a tweener, better value in the draft
Didn't Kimo win the Super Bowl two months before he was practicing with the Jets? Somewhere there is a contradiction in here, but you're used to it.
You mean all by himself Kimo won the SB? Is that what you are saying? Hamilton has a couple of SB rings also so what does that mean except he was lucky enough to latch onto the team that won the SB
David Bowens would be a pass rusher. He has no use in a 3-4 system otherwise. I think this is pretty obvious. If we're going to add another dlineman, it's going to be someone who can play meaningful snaps both inside and outside. Bowens would be a linebacker. -X-
