I know that we have Chad at #1 and Clemens at #2

but my question is who are we going to get at #3 ?

are we going to sign a free agent QB or maybe draft one in the later rounds?

We have had Tuiasosopo in for a chat , if hes cheap enough OK so long as he never takes a snap. BUT as we know when one QB goes down things happen in 3s. So I would go after someone like Rattay

I think we bring back Vinny T as a mentor. Even Drew Bledsoe... if hes still even available?

 Agreed. Didn't we hash something like this out a few days ago? Bringing in a quality vet as a mentor for Clemens?

with clemens already at #2, i dont see them using another pick on a qb. its gonna be somethin like last year with a veteran like ramsey who we got for real cheap just to have someone to compete with clemens and be there as insurance. i wouldnt be surprised if we signed Tuiasosopo actually, hes the only one ive heard talks about and hes a guy whos been around for awhile and is used to being a backup.

Well judging from the way we do things and the way NE does things; is it out of the realm of possibilty we go into the season with only 2 QB's ala Pats with Brady/Casell last year?

Maybe the FO has enough faith in Clemmons that if Chad goes down Kellen can be the man. Maybe we sign somebody later in FA or spend a late round pick on a guy like John Beck who is in his mid 20's married with a kid and reminds me of a poor man's CP.

    My vote is for Rattay.

First off, Brad Smith can not be the #3 QB. Not when the Jets have a brittle QB like Chad. Brad Smith is no more a back-up QB than Matt Jones is. He's a WR that can occasionally be used for trick plays and nothing more.

Second, I don't think the Jets should draft a QB. They took Clemens last year - he's the young gun who can one day take over. Now what they need is a veteran QB who can step in if Chad goes down and Clemens isn't ready.

Rattay is a guy who never got a fair shot. He's always played for crap teams with crap coaches. He showed a lot of potential when he brought Tampa back to almost beat the Bears last season. Bledsoe is too unhappy in a back-up role and we know his ceiling (it ain't that high). And Testeverde is just too old - he has no real value. Tuisadropthesoapo might be OK. Like Rattay, he's been stuck in a bad situation all this time so he may have hidden value. But I would love to see the Jets grab Rattay at this point.

I would be happy with anybody, including Terry Bradshaw to come in for 3rd string. There is no way that we can have our #1 & #2 guys go down 2 out of the last 3 years. I hope.
