After the Thomas Jones trade this is probably our best option. If you go to the draft value chart, the 2 picks get us close to the top of the second round if we can find a taker.

I would rather stay put and fill two holes. Maybe even move down from # 25 to fill three.

it's interesting though, now there's a whole new line of players to look at. I think Eric Weddle and Marcus McCauley come into play with those late seconds, maybe Justin Blalock or Ben Grubbs or maybe maybe maybe Adam Carriker with our first, but it looks to me like the Anthony Spencers and Jarvis Mosses (the second tier OLBs) are out of our range. Frankly, that's fine with me, but we'll see.

With Thomas Jones being the feautured back and Leon Washington being so explosive, i think drafting Brian Leonard to play full back with one of those 2 second rounders could really open things up for pennington. Defenses would have to worry about a tough runner, a quick and elusive runner, and probably the best fullback in the league at catching and running after the catch. Its not like our receivers are lacking either, both had awesome seasons last year. If they could maybe sign Randy McMichael, the TE from the Dolphins, i think their offense will be giving a lot of headaches.

I'd like Blaylock with our first pick. I know that this is really high for a Guard, but we would finally have a dominant side with him and a new RT (Maybe Columbo).
There should be no salary cap reasons against paying two first round O-Liners because the cap will increase every year.

I can definitely see us trading up, but it would be for a particular player.

If Marshawn Lynch is gone, and Carriker drops to 16 I bet that we trade #25 and #63 to the Packers to take Carriker. Otherwise, I bet that we stay put at most of the picks, if not move down at some point.

They won't be moving up unless it's a few spots. They may move down from 25 to get more picks this year and next year. If they can trade down from 25 to the 2nd round and get an extra 1st round pick next year that would be a good move. The more picks we have in the first 70 or so the better.
