If L. Davis gets signed by someone else, I'll be really pissed. It would be nice having him prevent A Thomas from Burying Chad on every drop back.

the Jets front office must feel so smart, with all that un-used cap money collecting interest in Woody Johnson's bank account.

No, the Jets are the old man who has 50 million in the bank, but still clips coupons at the grocery store.

Nothing is official on Porter yet. He could still be a Jet.

Meanwhile, the Jets can't help it if players are getting insane contracts. The Pats can afford to pay A.Thomas all that money because their team is already so solid. The Jets are not as solid. And every other team dishing out the big bucks (Buffalo, Atlanta) is just being stupid and Snyder-esque.

i coulda sworn you were the one arguing with me about roderick hood and how you thought he was good...maybe im mistaken

anyway, porter's still available and i'm pretty sure banta-cain is not...but i don't know if you've seen the contracts these players are receiving, they're just not worth it...complain all you want about it, but this team is trying to set itself up for long term success

I disagree, allsigns point to Porter signing elsewhere & we had plenty of money to afford A. Thomas. The talent gap between us & the Patriots just got alot wider.

It is a marathon...not a sprint. We have a long way to go.

The Patriots are in a better position to go after a single stud, because they don't have as many holes to fill. We need to bring in an OT, RB, OG, CB, LB, DT, and DE. It is tougher for us to grab one of the top FAs and still fill all the holes.

In a couple of years we will be where the Pats are now. I'm not giving up on us making some kind of splash, but I'm not counting on it.

What, the incessant whining? Seriously, it's pathetic. We would be worse off by blowing all of our cap space on these "big name" free agents. They're good players, yes, but they're getting way overpaid because of the weak free agent market. I'm much more content filling up cap space with extension for Cotchery and hopefully soon enough Rhodes. Maybe sign a back like TJ Duckett who can spell well with Leon Washington if the two are used together properly. It's key players who are role players that win championships, not $18,000,000 guaranteed for "marquee" players who've never been to Pro Bowls (Dockery) or overpaying an above average cornerback (Clements) and making him the highest paid defensive player in NFL HISTORY.

Agreed. We have too many wholes to fill to be giving up the world for single players. The Patriots rarely ever make moves like this; they have role players like Troy Brown.

there not worth it? but there getting it.. face it in this day and age to get a good player your going to overpay if not some other team will... so the while were not gonna overpay attitude sounds nice..this is how you end with matt chatem and bard kassell as major signings.
