If either one of those Panthers are cap casualties, you have to take a look at them. And if you have to, take a flyer on Traylor. You pretty much have nothing to lose and everything to gain--if worst comes to worst, you shift D-Rob back in there or someone else. But I just don't think D-Rob's going to cut it at NT--he's not big enough. With a big, hole-plugger in the middle, it would do wonders for the entire defense. It would help out all of the linebackers incredibly, mostly Vilma.

For the long term, I'd like to see the Jets take a look at Paul Soliai of Utah. 6-4, 338, absolute BEAST. If it only takes a late round pick, I'd jump on that chance.

Excellent point..Buddy. That lack of pass=rush last season was a killer & a blessing to Pats'.... Just ask Tom Brady, on that 3rd & 12 completion to Gaffney, Brady had a cup of coffee & a doughnut on that play.

Teams don't just release solid NT's. I'd be extremely surprised if we found our NT via free agency. It is so hard to find a good NT, we will have to go to the draft for ours IMO.

From what I'm reading, the future for Robertson is at End in the 3-4. The Jets will have to solve the NT problem with a combination of solutions including Pouha, Moore, a draft pick and a FA.

The Jets inability to stop 89-year old Corey Dillon during the playoffs was a blessing...imagine what would've happened the following week in SD.

Time to get serious about this 3-4 and get some meat in the middle. Love Mangini, but you're defense will never dominate without it.

I've mentioned in other threads that I would also keep an eye on Soliai, but character issues may scare the Jets away. As for UFAs I would take a look at Aubrayo Franklin from the Ravens. Should come cheap and is good at eating up blockers in the middle. Probably not an every down guy but would look good in our rotation....

I like KEITH TRAYLOR. When healthy he is a premier NT and a young 37! he is a monster and could teach POUHA what it is all about in the middle!

He was drafted and highly thought of when he came out of college. That is reason enough! The real question is why do you think he can't play the position? Because a guy has been hurt does not mean he can't play the position well. Give the guy some time and the opportunity to play. Then comment!

Franklin would be a sleeper of a player. I personally think Drob is going to be our DE.

what happened to Amalfifluffafoofey babbaboey? He was on the team last year but injured early-on? From what I remember, the guy was raw but had ALOT of potential.

From what I remeber, he's off the squad, but things can change and I never hear about it.

Who's Zarnell Fitch? He's listed as a DT on our roster nyj.com. He's 6'3", 320lbs from TCU and I've never heard of him.

The guy we need is Walter Thomas, he is a 6'4" 370 pound BEAST out of Misouri. He could be pick up in the 5th round. He is very raw, but in a couple years??? fooget about it!

I think the following is the best option but I am really not sure if the Jets would do it. Maybe trading the #25 pick and next year's 1st to move up to around #6 to get Alan Branch.

DT should be our #1 priority in the draft. Move D-Rob to DE where he belongs and get a big DT.

You're right! Though nipples, clits, tongues, bellybuttons, eyebrows, noses, and ears ARE all perfectly acceptable piercings in the TriState area.
Now, if he had a Prince Albert, perhaps then it might suggest something about his sexuality. But even then, in this modern day and age, I wouldn't count on it.

Would you really f***ing care if the guy wore lingerie outside his uniform and wore matching lipstick and nailpoish if he was good for dozen sacks a season?
Next you're going to tell me the Jets need to steer clear of a guy because he has a gerbil tatooed on his ass despite the fact that he's a runstopping monster and quaterback killer.

Hollis Thomas, however ,is not that guy.

I think the funniest part of all this is that when you think about it...

Picture this tough guy trying to explain how NJ/NY will never accept him because of the implications of his piercing.

Wonder what he'd look like after Thomas got done with him...
