No one is giving a high first rounder for John Abraham. All these embarrassing posts of "what happenned to #9?" They're lucky if they get Seattles #31. Abraham is not an attractive player cause everyone knows the Jets are gonna deal him plus he doesn't play hurt and gets hurt. He isn't this enticing player that most of you are making him to be for those two reasons. If Matt Millen ever gave up #9 for Abraham, that would seal his exit out of Detroit, these other teams want to win also.

that 9 was for abe and our 3rd...so it was very believable
and most lions fans at this point that i have talked to (the only 2 i know)...are so fed up with millen that they would rather trade the 9 pick for abe (a pro bowler) than sit aorund and let millen draft a player who never turns out
lions fans are so down on their front office right now its ridiculous
the lions seem to have dropped out of the running so its no longer an issue...
the rumored offer was supposivelt made from the lions too...but the majority of rumors are complete garbage

It seems right now Abraham is scaring teams away with his contract demands. If he doesn't lower his contract price, he may end up still on the Jets thsi season.

You know, this is not out of the realm of possibility. I just can't stand the thought of somebody on our sidelines with an $8.3 million dollar pout face going on.

I hope we trade him now. I just want something workable for him in return.

For starters, the Redskins, who decided Andre Carter has better value. Today I've read that Denver may be backing off due to his past run ins with alcohol and his asking for $ 18 million in signing bonus.

THE REDSKINS....making john abraham the 1st player in history to scare the redskins away with a contract demand
the team gave randle el 27 mil...and archuleta the richest safety deal ever
trying to give lloyd 5.5 per year
and this carter guy 30 mil
all this carter deal did was make it worse for teams trying to negotiate with abe

The Redskins are ridiculous. They overpaid big time for Carter. Abraham, who has been to 3 of 5 Pro Bowls, wasn't worth it, but Antwan Randle El gets a boatload of guarantees in the same week they trade for Brandon Lloyd?

As for the Lions, well, they need that number 1 pick. Chad Jackson might still be available and it's key to their passing game and Joey Harrington's development that they draft another receiver.

In all seriousness, Abraham's value has just skyrocketed. With Howard and Carter now off the market, there are few alternatives, period. Teams looking for a pass rusher are going to have to make an offer for Abraham. Teams like Denver could spend a later first round pick on a Mathias Kiwanuka or a Tamba Hali, but they won't have the guarantees that they'll have with Abraham, who is still young enough to be a good long-term investment.

good points all around, but as for this part i think basically the redskins realized it would take the rest of their draft picks and ramsey to maybe top a deal from denver/seattle/atl...and that it wasnt worth it
if the redskins traded for abe...they wouldnt have even needed to attend the draft

Thats a good point "thegolden" but if they do trade for Abe and he does get hurt and does not play Millen is done for so I think its a roll of the dice for the lions. If he plays well and does not get hurt Millen would have saved face but if Abe fails he is a good as gone. Go Jets

The point is, no one wants Abraham and suggesting premium price for the guy is unrealistic and not happenning.

I believe he will fetch us a 1st rd. draft pick. The #9 is a little unrealistic though

I don't think it would happen even if our 3rd was included. Hope I'm wrong
