Jealous of Shula! Bwhahahaa! I can actually do one situp, which makes me able to accomplish something Shula can only dream of! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!
They're on TV because the media wants to cover it...If they didn't set up cameras in the guy's house, no one would really even know. It's not like they pay for a TV spot to show off. Oh well I'm not gonna argue over this.
the story about the '72 Dolphins supposedly all getting together every year and partying isn't even true. Get your facts straight.
I'm no fan of the Dolphins or of Shula, but even I have the intelligence to recognize the fact that Shula was one of the great coaches of the league and deserves some credit. As for Unitas, my understanding was that the guy was at the end of his career and was suffering with an injury at the time. Putting him in was a last ditch effort, but probably one that was altogether futile.
Not to take away from Unitas who as I understand it was one of the games great QB's, but nevertheless in SB III he could have played the whole game, but with a busted elbow the outcome may not have been much different. Still does not change the fact about Shula.
No, Unitas was on a team that won the Super Bowl. In Super Bowl V he played less than one half (leaving with the score tied 6-6), had two interceptions and a fumble, and his 75-yard TD pass was actually a pass that was both high and behind Eddie Hinton, bounced off his hands, was tipped by Dallas defensive back Mel Renfro, and finally ended up in the hands of John Mackey, who took the ball for a touchdown. Johnny U was a great great QB, but he played poorly in both Super Bowl III and Super Bowl V.
