That's good to hear. I think this offense has loads of potential if Schottenheimer sticks around.

I'll be happy for Schottenheimer when he becomes a head coach because of what he could bring to our offense the next few years. That said, I'm extremely happy we will have him the next few years.

LOL no worries there. It is good but really unless we see a major regression this year B. Shottenheimer is on borrowed time as the Jets Offensive coordinator.

Wow, Parcells as a consultant would be amazing. As long as he didn't interview with what Tangini wanted to do, he's an excellent nose tackle coach, and really knows the 3-4, as well as a very good talent evaluator.

Parcells has a habit of bringing in players from his last team... Who would he bring in from the Cowbaoys?

Glad to hear he's getting treated the right way after having such a great rookie season, and showing so much potential. That being said, i dont think we have him for too much longer either way

Did Schttoenmeyer have anything to do with the poor running game? Afterall, he was the OC. Nobody ever mentions that.

You work with what you have. The OL had 2 rookies and it was RB by committee. If we had a stud RB it would have been different.

Funny, haven't seen any "Woody is cheap" threads lately.

I think it was much more than loyalty that caused Schotty to stay. That defense is aging, and that team has major problems. going to Miami could have screwed up his career. I also think he might feel unready for the mext leap. He'll get better opportunities. He'll be a HC somewhere, and before he turns 35.

The Jet's running game was actually a pleasant surprise given that they had nobody who looked like an NFL back on their roster as of game one. They finished 20th in yards per game and only lost 7 fumbles. If you'd asked me if I'd take that at the beginning of the year I'd have said ok.

Next year the expectations are going to be a bit higher.

It was a weird year though, 5 of the top 6 rushing teams did not make the playoffs and 7 of the top 10. Odds against that have to be large.

I think the Parcells-to-Jets rumors were probably started by the Parcells camp to get non-coaching job opportunities to line themself up for the Tuna. He has proven that he isn't above petty media rumors and games when it comes to getting a new job.

I didn't realise that. Interesting tidbit. Good info. What do you think the odds are that we start next season with the same starting 5 on the O line?

The Jets could replace Brandon Moore or Anthony Clement and improve the line without trying too hard. They could replace Kendall and get younger and not a lot less talented. I would say the odds are pretty good one of them is replaced by the time 2007 rolls around. Maybe two if Mangini and Tannenbaum get really aggressive with the roster.

Moore has a very cap friendly contract and still some room to grow as a player so he's probably the one most likely to stick around. Then again I'd have said the same thing about Adrian Jones going into last season.

I'd rather keep Clement than Moore. Moore was awful, and took more penalties. Clement had a quiet season, and for an o-linemen that is a good thing. He was average in the run game, but I can't remember him getting burned passblocking much.
