I believe if Mougey nails this draft he'll decouple his fate from Glenn's regardless of our 2026 won-loss record.
Wouldn't that be fantastic?? The problem is, as is with most rich men, they think they know it all. They THINK because they have endless supplies of money that equals intelligence, of any kind. The EGO in these people almost can never be assuaged. It's WHY Johnson is constantly sticking his nose where it doesn't belong. I don't give two shits if he does own the team. Recognize you're not a fucking football guy, business guy or any other kind of guy outside a "rich silver spoon in the mouth guy" with a bank account. If he would JUST do that, shit would be a LOT smoother. Period. I mean, damn...we have 20 years of PROOF that he doesn't know what the fuck he's doing, in toto, by sheer virtue of watching this jackass hire ROOKIE head coaches from the defensive ranks. Gase is an outlier. And, he's allowed this shit to go on so long that he no longer can attract the cream of the crop rookie head coaches any longer. He continues down the path he's going or he sacks up, eats his fucking pride and hires a Sean Peyton type or a Mike McCarthy type. He can bully rookie nobodies who are just looking for a shot. He can't do that bullshit to coaches who have Super Bowls on their resume because they'll tell him to fuck off when he comes at them with stupid shit. <sigh> We're in for a very long haul with this useless turd.
that would be a wonderful step in the right direction if he did that. Even Leon Hess finally came to this sense when he handed the keys to Parcells. One leader with one goal for the team and the buck stops there. We're never in that situation. We're always where we are now. Mougey with his goals, Glenn with his goals and they each plead their case to Woody Johnson after every losing season
I don't even think necessarily Woody is terrible at hiring. Some of the guys he hired have shown they aren't too bad. Todd Bowles is a decent NFL head coach for example but he looked like a neutered dumbass here I think you have to look at why that is, and IMO it is because how he wanted to play and win was very different from how Mike Maccagnan wanted to play and win
Eh…I’m not a Bowles fan…I don’t think he’s a very good coach at all…he’s won that division only because he’s the least terrible of the bunch…if I’m not mistaken he’s won it once for sure with a losing record. I would not want Bowles as my coach…he’s just reaped the benefits of playing in a terrible division for years.
