I think you can get Levis for a lot less than that. I’m not a fan personally though. Levis is so stiff and made some awful decisions with the football when he got his chance.

In this entre conversation you had mostly with yourself you never said anything concrete that might work. I initially thought you meant drafting a QB high every year, maybe even trading up for the guy you like, etc... An example would be drafting Simpson this year AND then spend a top 5 pick (or package multiple assets to move up) next year, and if out of the two one doesn't clearly emerge, another 1st round pick the year after, until you are confident you have a young FQB. That to me was not practical, but at least it was an idea worth discussing.

Instead were you arrived after this internal debate is getting "viable" QBs every year. When asked to clarify, you said to look in the dictionary, which says "capable of working successfully; feasible". Which is exactly what we have been doing: the coaches are getting what they think are capable QBs, with Rodgers, Fields, Tyrod, and Geno being latest examples. You have provided no nuance, no refinement when asked again and again, just a stock dictionary answer.

Basically, your novel idea is: get capable QBs - with no clarification whatsoever. Why couldn't anyone else think of this genus plan? All we have to do is get viable QBs, and we are set! How to find viable QBs, what look for, well dictionary of course that's where the answer is. :) Come on, RB, yes, I am making fun of this, but that's actually what you are saying.

Your big problem is that you do not comprehend what you read which leads you to come up with your own idea of what someone is saying instead of understanding what is on the page and your ego tells you that is okay.

Your other problem is that you cannot understand that anyone would not care in the slightest about your opinion regardless of how you arrived at it.

Can we start a thread about our opinions on available QBs? This one clearly turned into something else.

You don't have any concrete idea and your so called clarification (stock definition of word viable in the dictionary without any nuance) proved that. Also for someone who does not care the slightest you sure spent a lot of time responding. :)

    Sooo back to QBs lol

Does anyone besides me feel that Ty Simpson is worthy of the 16th pick?

I have a feeling he might not even be there at 16 anyways. I think Arizona trades back. Someone I feel is jumping up for Reese or Bailey whoever we don’t pick.

The Cowboys are a strong possibility to jump up for either End for sure. I can not imagine a world ehere the Jets move up from 16 for Simpson but if there at 16th they might if they see potential or even trade the pick.

That would be a huge red flag on Mougey were he to take this project at 16. The media wolves would be swirling for blood from Day 1 while this kid is on the bench never to be seen. The short answer is No, never, no way. You don't waste a lottery pick like that on an unproven project. They need too much help with positions all over the roster. The Jets need impact guys in Year 1 at Pick 16 which this kid is definitely not.

I think the Jets should draft a legit QB prospect in rounds 1-5, but I also feel we should take a flyer on Diego Pavia with either pick 238 or 242 if he is still there. Whether you like his attitude or height he garnered 189 first-place votes and 1,435 total points for the Heisman Trophy. I think NYers and the press would love him in the Big Apple.

I think Mougey places himself squarely on the "hotseat" if he takes Simpson any higher than 33. There are simply way too many holes on the team to burn a 1st round pick on a kid that simply isn't even a 60% sure thing. Again, in my opinion, you do not take a QB in the 1st round unless they have proven elite skill sets, size and intangibles. It's why I puked when they drafted Zach Wilson. The only elite skill set he had was throwing a pretty ball with no rushers, no need to read a defense and no need to move around in the pocket. If the team were a bit more complete then you take that gamble. Seeing as there are more than 5 or 6 glaring holes, I would say no.

Pavia would either be loved in NY or loathed. There's no middle ground for this kid. He was able to "cash those checks" his mouth wrote, at the college level however, I don't think he will ever amount to much at the pro level. You know who Pavia reminds me of, Johnny "Johnny Football" Manziel. He runs his mouth just like Manziel did. Great in the college game when half the competition is mid-tier college level. Not so great when playing against elite athletes at every position.

Completely agree. Moug very, very intentionally, was firm in getting the number one pick from Dallas next year. There-is zero doubt they are gearing towards positioning themselves for an all out strike on a QB in 2027. This draft is about building the missing pieces. So at best they might take a flyer at 33 but even that is iffy. Unless of course there is a real belief by the entire staff that Tye can be the guy, which is very risky with his very limited body of work. I would say, in any case, with the current situation, you can rest assure that all first round picks and target names are coordinated at nausea with Woody with full understanding of the risks.

it definitely feels that way, and if so, I think that is a good long range plan that is not overly reactive in the short term...of course, the thing that could muck it up is Woody meddling looking for big results this year...which is why I think the better move from Woody would have been to clean house and go get an offensive HC...that would have removed this "win now" mentality that I'm sure AG is feeling. Ah well...we are where we are, and we all know that if there is a wrong decision to be made, Woody will find it.

But I hope your read on this is correct and I think it makes sense...load up with 3 picks next year when the QB class is supposed to be better while we use this year's high quality picks to build the team ... of course, 2 years ago, everyone was looking at this 2026 class thinking it was going to be a great QB class...
