I understand that. I just see so many flashes of pro bowl talent when I watch his tape. If the front office deems him too risky, I'm ok with that. We have seen guys with injury concerns in college overcome that in the NFL. Lattimore from the Saints is one recent one that comes to the mind.
I mean that's certainly one way to frame all that. Personally I give Mouge less individual credit for the act of auctioning off some of our best players (with real value) to the highest bidder. As I think any GM we brought in was still likely to do that anyway. I also still believe to this day that pushing Rodgers out of the building and downgrading the QB room/offense, in the name of "good culture building" that was never realistically going to happen on a Woody owned team to begin with, ultimately wasn't the right direct to go in last offseason (after the offense actually started showing signs of life in the second half of 2024). There can be hope though imo. It's just not going to come out of the annual cycle of fail logic that always falls back into ignoring or pretending the terrible ownership variable isn't a thing ...until it clearly is again. Any GM here needs to make make plans and moves that adjust to that reality. Where any success we do have is most likely going to have to take an uglier path to get there, and isn't going to get more then 2-3 year opportunity window to take any real steps away from a growingly impatient owner's desire to constantly blow things up. We are currently 1 year in to that too. i think Mouge is currently sitting on a VERY slippery slope right now. With an already decent outcome chance in play that this fanbase, and the large majority of this message board, end the year screaming for his head.
Agree to disagree with your assessment on Mouge, and as for the fan base, they have been screaming to fire the GM and HC over the last 40 years right or wrong, me included, knowing very little about what really goes on inside the building and where the fault is. The only thing is an absolute fact is that changing every two-three year has accomplished nothing. So, they can scream to their heart content, doesn't mean they are right.
If Moug drafts Tyson and he gets hurt the end of the take on that is going to end up being that it was just as stupid/wreckless to take a clearly injury prone WR, to fix a room in dire immediate need of help, as it was of him to draft a WR last year who can't catch footballs. Book that On that note it kinda plays into my hope they take Tate at 2 though. I can at least make more sense of their non aggressive approach at filling the WR room this winter if they already know they 100% have that pick/guy locked in to the roster build.
