The work produces the fun. In the end, its the best way to get away from it all, relax and clear your mind from the everyday bullshit. :)

Finally found the blank I'll be using for my Canyon Stick..

    Phenix Axis – Blanks - HAX-720X2H-B / 7’2” / 40-100 lb. / 1 / Fast / 11 / 0.93 / 12.2oz.

This new fish slayer will be acid wrapped, EVA grips, Swivel tipped with 8-10 guides. Should be able to handle 2-4lb weights which is what we usually use in the 3 (Hudson, Baltimore and Wilmington) canyons depending on the current. If God forbid I have to go with 5lbs, this stick will handle it without much stress.

Will post pics when its finished.

A bit over a month until my Pulley Ridge trip in May. Bringing 4 rods + 1 trolling rod for this trip as I don't want to bring too much gear. Next year, it will be Tarpon Springs for Snapper and Grouper in the Northern Gulf. Shaping up to be a great '26 fishing season.

Good thing your trip was already booked/paid for! These gas prices are going to make fishing expensive!:mad::mad:

Yep.. My Armada has a 28gal tank that I don't let go below 1/4 tank and even that is painful. For once, having to reserve trips a year in advance does lock in the price and in this case, looks like I got lucky! Marco Is. is 4hrs from Sanford, FL. Roughly 260mi so its gonna be about a 1/2 tank to get there. What's a gallon going for in FL. ?

About $4.30 where I live.... (probably a little cheaper inland / off the island but not much). Can't wait to see what ethanol free for the boat is going to cost!

Just got sent a reminder from the American Patriot about Pulley Ridge. No new costs. The Original fare stands as is. Got lucky again. Ready for a pivot if the Patriot cancels again to Tarpon Springs for a Grouper/Snapper Northern Gulf trip. Tarpon Springs is 2.5hrs west of Orlando just north of Tampa.

I would hope so... otherwise I'd call BS saying "you've been holding my $ for 6 months!"

Good luck on the trip. When does red snapper open in the Gulf of Mexico?

6/1-10/26 for ARS. I'll be targeting Queens and whatever else is in season no matter which trip I wind up on. Just glad to have a May trip so the weather should be good at both locations. One boat "Gulfstream Endurance" fishes north. "American Patriot" fishes south from Pulley to the Dry Tortugas.
