One more time this team sucks me back in. I love what Moug is doing so far, I loved the Frank Reich hire, Draft is upon us and after last year's draft I expect 3-4 impactful players. I mean, Glenn still has a lot to prove but at least he set himself up nicely. Next year's schedule is brutal and I don't expect playoffs or anything. But I like the direction we are on and I want to believe we will resemble a functioning team after all. Low bar I know but no playoff appearance in 15 years lowered the bar a lot for me as a fan.
Another off-season. More propaganda to give phony hope. We will win between 4 and 6 games, just enough to not be on top for a top of the draft franchise QB. We cant even tank successfully when we need to. Here you are making a post about "direction" while also saying we will not make the playoffs. Sorry, but that is pathetic. A season should never have a bar lower than at least making the playoffs. Bottom line - we suck until we dont.
I still don’t think Glenn will see this rebuild through until he proves otherwise but I do like what Mougey is doing. I’m curious to see who he drafts in the top 44 and what he does with QB long term. But I do like the direction he is going at this time. I think the team will be better but no playoffs in ‘26.
You already know where I'm positioned on this. Show me the wins period. That being said, I love what Mougey is doing with this franchise. He's learning really fast how to be a top notch GM as evidenced by his ROI on all his trades so far. If what I'm reading is right, the franchise finally has a traditional Org. Chart as opposed to Woody's musical chairs. Mougey has that "it" factor that neither Mac nor JD had when it comes to talent eval. I think he may also have been the driving force behind the CS re-org as well. Low key but as they say, you better watch the quiet ones.. If Woody decides to let Mougey run the show, and that will probably happen sooner than later, we'll be in pretty good shape. I'm hopeful for an improved '26 over last year's trainwreck. Glenn's job depends on it. I say that because if you look at the hires, every one of them can step in and take Glenn's job. Probably do it better too so if Glenn only has one job to do this year, he damn well better do it successfully. No playoffs, but I think the jokes stop this year. About damn time..
I’m in the camp of being able to acknowledge we’ve improved and are headed in the right direction but will start believing it when they start showing it. My tolerance for bullshit since turning 40 is at an all time low and this team is the definition of bullshit. So yes I’m happy with almost everything we’re doing but wake me up when it translates to something that isn’t embarrassment.
The team looks much improved, but looking at the schedule, I will still be extremely impressed if we exceed 3 wins.
Im with you on this. Like what I've seen with DM but AG ain't got it. And that schedule is brutal. The AFC west and NFC north? That's rough. I see 4-5 wins and hopefully AG getting canned at the end of the season.
I don’t know…I am not optimistic as I am fully on the Show Me on the Field mode, so until we see something different, I’ll assume we still suck. I think Mougey is the better of our GM/HC combo by far. I think we are a bit better overall roster-wise, but that is a very low bar, and I am not sure we are “good”…we are just better than the shit we were before. I agree next year’s schedule is going to be rough, so I don’t think we’ll win many games (again!) but it may help in the long run if it sets us up for a great draft including a QB next year. It sucks to be writing off a season before even the draft, but it’s hard to imagine 8 or 9 wins….we got some better pieces in free agency but we still need real playmakers, which should come from the draft, so still early to really see what we are going to be. I think we need to address WR and IOL in big ways, and obviously Edge and probably still LB and CB as well in the draft. Good thing we have a bunch of high picks…Mougey is going to need them. I do like how he’s moved in trades, his first draft was pretty solid if not spectacular, so I do have hope that Mougey will become a very good GM, which is a promising sign. Glenn, not so much…maybe he learned and will improve, but I’m more skeptical on him than I am on Mougey.
Yeah then the next time you login to TGG, you will have the standard realization: "I'm 50 and the Jets still suck"
I'm not prepared for Hell to freeze over... Before the end of FA, the draft and anything else before next season starts I say....hmmmm....well, I'm not going to predict wins but they'll do enough to have to WASTE a crap load of draft capital to move UP to get a decent QB.
I'm almost 80 and it takes everything I've got just to login, and when I finally do, guess what? The Jets still suck.
I like what Mougey has done. I still want this team get around .500 before I have an ounce of excitement or hope
I have a little hope, but overall it seems we are always excited by new GMs in the beginning. I still don't like the Sauce trade or the JJ trade. Hopefully they can finally right this ship, but I'm curbing my enthusiasm until I actually see them play.
But I will tell you what I have hope for, Glenn getting fired after this yeas debacle, and the Jets hire Mike Tomlin, be wonderful headlines for NY Harbaugh with Giants and Tomlin with the Jets!
My expectations for this season are pretty low so its easy for me to have hope that we can meet them.
I am actually pretty positive based on everything, well, almost everything, the Moug has done thus far into his tenure. Obviously his legacy will be IF her can draft the right guy at QB. Not sure if that's this year or next - but he gets 2 bites of the apple in these drafts to do it. So far he's given me hope, which is a shit-ton more than doofus JD and his cast of idiots did the last 5 years...
