Disagree. I believe that there is no universal "lattice of coincidence" but that each sentient being forms his own. For Jets fans it is easy to connect New Jersey and misery; for others that connection has absolutely nothing to do with the Jets - it just is.

Geno Smith doesn't have the best pocket awareness, but he's always been good at plunging fans into explorations of the fundamental nature of reality.

Here's an example: Suppose you're thinking about a plate of shrimp. Suddenly someone will say, like, "plate" or "shrimp" or "plate of shrimp" out the blue. No explanation.

I disagree with your disagreement. Jersey tomatoes are sweet as candy to balance out the rise of acid in my esophagus this team causes. Coincidence? No. Well, technically tomatoes are acidic, but it only burns on the way back up, which this team directly causes. That's where Rolaids come in. OK, forget that one.

Taffy from the boardwalk is the obvious choice here. Coincidence? No. Krause's Candy in Paramus on the way to The Old Dump and in Toms River, I rest my case.

No point in looking for one, either.

Obviously the reason why Geno was available for so cheap is because he sucked last year. But we cannot just ignore the previous 3 years. 35 is not that old for a non scrambling QB, and he didn't looked washed last year to me. He looked bad, lol, but the whole team did. It's not crazy at all to think he can perform at 2023/2024 level with better supporting cast and coaching. Unfortunately ditto for 2025, but the ceiling is fairly decent here. Let's see what happens, given the options available to us, this was the best move we could have made, which had some sort of reasonable ceiling. Geno also fits Reich's style of QB perfectly. I don't think we can rule out mini resurgence here that Wentz, Brissett, and Rivers had with Reich.

To me it seems like more hubris by this regime.

They believe they can succeed where others failed. Based on exactly what? The wonderful season they gave us in 2025?

And shows they don't understand this market at all. Which has been one of the most surprising faults Coach has displayed during his short time here. He played for the Jets played most of his playing career here, he was a scout(?) for the Jets yet he has behaved as if he never worked here before.

I've tempered my reaction to this move because I refuse to believe they can be dumb enough to put all their eggs in Geno's basket as they did with Fields last season. I'm awaiting the signing of this second veteran QB I've heard so much about and they better draft a rookie QB early in this draft and it better be a open competition in camp for the job.

Because if they were to just hand the keys to the team to Geno the starting QB of the team that finished with the #1 overall pick in this upcoming NFL Draft would only be more evidence this coach has no fn idea what he's doing.

Taffy was invented by a dentist to drum up business. It's nothing I ever think about. Neither is shrimp.

So much for the universal matrix theory.

Waiting turned out to be the right move. Get to shed 3 extra mil that KC will pay AND a 6th round pick to boot. And we didn't wait that long either.

Overall we basically traded Geno for Fields straight up and got 6th round pick for 7th. Got the 3 mil we spent for Geno back too. Great deal for us, given Fields wasn't staying anyway.

I thought they’d wait til post 6/1 to get almost full cap relief but if you have someone willing to give you literally anything for a bad player that is going to be cut, take what you can get when you can get it.

We've traded a sack machine for an INT machine and got a higher pick. I think that works.

Is Jermaine Johnson the sack machine? Because Geno was sacked twice as many times as Fields, in addition to throwing the most picks.

Geno was behind an OL made of paper. Anyway, I love Geno's mechanics, it's just a shame his Wonderlic score has a minus sign in front of it.

At least the INT machine will let go of the ball. That will make the games infinitely more exciting than they were last season.
