    For me, it's not a "1 for 1" trade.

The Jets get the younger player with an extra year of control but also get the nearly $12 million in cap relief. That is substantial. You could realistically sign a new ILB (Nakobe Dean) and S (Nick Cross) for that money.

I responded to this earlier but I’m pretty sure the hack who reported this took his snap count and divided by 17 not realizing he only played in 12 games.

Spending a first round pick on a premium position like a pass rusher, then being so dysfunctional that he wants to be traded, then turning down a 3rd round pick for him at the deadline even though he won’t re-sign with you, and then instead trading him for a fat, lazy run stuffer that your former elite defensive head coach doesn’t want on his team is so jetsy.

BECAUSE his wingspan doesn’t play football. ALL of him does.

I’m my mind. Talent, heart and motor is 80% of a player. Again, just an opinion…

Yes but how about the DE that have met the measurable and still sucked at the NFL level because they didn’t have the technique, the bend, the heavy hands to get away from blockers, even their tape showed weakness but everyone thought they could be coached up at the next level and nothing happened.

For the record I’m not dumping on anyone who thinks the opposite, but to ignore his production just because his arms are a little short is not fair either.

Are you saying you won’t like the pick if jets go with him?

Terrible take. You're better than this.

Fat, lazy run stuffer who was what? 4th in the league in PFF metrics in stopping the run. Yeah, sounds terrible. Sounds lazy.

Why doesn't Saleh want him? Not because he's fat and lazy. It's because he doesn't fit his scheme. Of course, you know that though.

What about the extra year of control and $12 million in cap space they save? You probably just forgot to mention that.

Oh and JJ wanted a trade? Yea he was unstoppable on this team. 13 sacks in 4 years. How on earth will they replace that production.

I might be wrong, but the preponderance of us have nothing against Bain and completely disregard the short arm argument. We do however, feel that his awesome productivity is more suited to a predominant 4-3 alignment while the other two are 3-4 more effective. It boils down to what great player fits AG style best.

Agreed…seems like we will get a very good player whether its Bain, Bailey or Reese…and if there comes an opportunity to trade down a few spots and still get one of them that’d be pretty cool.

I like Bain because he’s proven against top competition…I think sometimes there is some over analyzing that happens. Yes I get his arms are short for his position. But he’s been pretty fucking good against top competition, not like he’s playing at North Dakota State. And he’s done it against guys he’ll be facing in the league. So for me, yeah I get it but it’s not enough to turn me off of the player.

That said, I can see how the other two guys may end up being better fits if we are going to be playing a different defense, and I’d be fine with either guy as well.

Is all I'm sayin' as well. Definitely not slamming any of the other kids, either. I'm sure they'll do fine. I simply wanted the proven player, not "potential or upside."

That said I'm very late and 5 pages behind, so apologies if this joke has had its day

I was in the flow of posting and was sitting in traffic to boot. In my case it was more a Freudian slip of the tongue. All that registered, mentally, was one of our only USEFUL pass rushers heading out the building.

Remember when Damien Robinson casually drove an assault rifle and plenty of ammo onto Jets property like a month after 9/11?? Good times. lol.
