Even though a ton of time has passed, I'm still thoroughly blown away the Dolphins extended Tua with the contract they did. Shit, if only for medical alone, I wouldn't have done that deal. I read that article and mother fuck, a $99.2 million Cap hit when they cut him? That is damn near between half and a full 3rd of their entire Cap! That there is NY Jets/Cleveland Browns level ineptitude!

Tua needs to retire anyway. He's going to get killed on that field. That's literally, not figuratively in his case. Holy cow... $99.2 million...

He could assist getting the WRs the ball. 1yr deal I would be okay with.

I remember thinking the same thing when they extended him. Really dumb!

Wow. I'd take Tua and his awful contract for Miami's first rounder( pick 11 overall).

No way Miami would do that deal with a division rival, right? o_O

Tua has two issues that won't change:

    1. Injury history 2. He's terrible in cold weather.

    It's not happening.

"Assist", that made me laugh. I had a visual of (insert some guy in a Jets uniform) going, "Does anyone want this thing? I don't, but I can assist you with taking it off my hands by throwing it . . . probably away."

Tua is currently the most likely player in professional sports to leave the field in a hearse. Would make a lot of sense for him to go out as a Jet.

For sure. Why wouldn’t Miami just eat all the money and move on though? We just did it with Rodgers, the Broncos did it with Russell Wilson, etc.

It’s one season in cap hell and that’s about it.

I’d do the deal. We can absorb the cap hit on his retirement/death, whichever comes first.

Well, after all, he's a quarterback. So Miami HAD to do it. he's a quarterback! QB's need to occupy a third of the team payroll! There are only 18 on earth. (dripping sarcasm)

Wow now that they are releasing him I’m interested.

What a gift for our Jets that Murray and Tua both have been simply released

Since shit is about to pick up… Are we creating new threads for every player that we are linked to or we sign or is everything happening in the free agent/trades thread?

in terms of Tua… with rumors that Geno wants to play in Miami it feels inevitable that this is unfortunately our guy. He’s been a bad quarterback, he’s even worse in cold weather, he throws teammates and coaches under the bus and he is one hit away from the psych ward which means we’ll be turning to our backup, most likely Carson Wentz, who isn’t even worse option. Not sure I can come up with a worse duo than those two guys yet they feel like the leaders in the clubhouse. Fields/Tyrod felt better at this time last year.

Once the rumors started being consistent about the Jets wanting two veteran QBs, I think it kind of limited the talent pool for QBs that would want to put up with that situation. They have two of the most injured QBs in the past decade as the likeliest options.

Everyone reporting that the Falcons are expected to "aggressively pursue" Tua, which in reporter speak means he's going to Atlanta but they can't make it obvious the team and player broke rules.

    Thank god.

Haha.... I'll say it made him hard not to like
basically a very summarized version... Invited my buddy on his yacht, simply because he was a "working guy" (he was a mate / deckhand on a sportfish yacht docked in an exclusive resort for millionaires and billionaires... Brady has property there amongst a bunch of other celebrities and CEOs)
"You can come party with us brah..."
Then as he's gettin hammerred "Fuck Tom Brady...He's a pussy!" (how can you not like that)... but "I'm gonna have more Superbowls and MVPs then him!" My buddy was like ohhh kayyyyy... there's more details but basically he said "he's was cool as shit to me but he's crazy"
