I don't care if Mougey was a mute. His public speaking skills are way down on the list of things he's being measured on. Is this a football board or a reality TV board? WTF. First and foremost, he's being measured on his ability to build a talented, deep roster. The verdict is still out on if he can do so. This off-season is where he either elevates himself or looks like another joker wannabe GM who has no clue how to select and build the most talented roster. He's on the clock.
Thanks for posting and summarizing…much appreciated! Let’s hope we see a different AG on the sidelines next year…I do like the Reich hire so curious to see where they go with QB and what it all looks like next year. With the boatload of picks we have, there is no way we come out of the 2027 draft without a QB. No way…can’t happen. I’m curious to see what we do at QB this year, but sure feels like next year is the year to draft the future.
It’s not a secret that players really like Aaron Glenn. I think fans misconstrue their opinion on the extreme outside as the common opinion on the inside.
Should be the other way around Mougey gets the A and Glenn? D+. Should shit bottom out this year, Glenn walks the plank and Mougey will get to hire his HC if we're lucky.
Did I say my opinion was gospel truth? I don't remember posting anything other than my opinion. You can take it anyway you please.
yeah a bit surprising honestly but we'll see how it translates to on the field winning, which in the end is really the only thing that matters...the players can love the HC as a guy, a friend, a mentor, whatever, but if he doesn't win that doesn't make him a good HC. I'm sure plenty of players hated Parcells because he would ride their ass and pressure them (and he was brilliant in knowing how to treat different players...some he pushed, some he coddled, etc. he didn't treat them all the same). so yeah, great if the players love him, but if they don't play hard for him, and if he doesn't put them in the best position to succeed, and most importantly if they don't start winning games, then I don't give a fucking shit if they love him or not, he has to go.
No I’m not saying you did I’m saying you’re exact opinion is echoed by so many and then everyone is shocked when the guy isn’t fired or there’s tons of support for him.
Right I get it, but the calls for him being fired weren’t based on players not liking him (though it was pretty clear that no one really upped their game under him, and for the most part, effort was less than ideal)…rather the calls for firing him were based on just how badly he and the team performed. Very much worthy of being fired. I could care less if players like him or not.
Ohhh... got it. It's been a long, long time since we've had a GM that gives us any hope that he knows his job. Unfortunately, until proven otherwise aka: Wins, Glenn still has to prove that his first year was the start of his learning curve and not the norm. Can't blame folks for having that picture in their minds about the current leadership of the Jets.
Right, but then don’t go. It’s either worthwhile or it’s not. If it is, then you go and you don’t fall asleep at the wheel. If it’s not, then don’t waste your time going.
At least now we know why a good number of clock management situations were terribly mishandled throughout the season.
