I have read enough about jets "fans" hoping for a tank in 2026 to get Glenn fired, or maybe a shot at Arch Manning in 2027, or possibly the team being sold (not happening).. For whatever it is worth, I'm rooting like hell that the jets are competitive in 2026. No, I don't expect the Super Bowl, but I think w a good draft and some signings/changes the jets can compete for the playoffs in 2026. I think Moog is a better GM than Douglas, Idzik, or McCagnan. He likely won't waste first round picks on the likes of Zack Wilson, Will McDonald, Micah Becton, etc. It makes no sense to follow a team and hope for another losing season so that in the fall of 2027 they might show some improvement. (????). Starting tomorrow, I hope the jets tag Breece Hall, have some great signings, and draft some good players. Is Arch Manning really the savior he is hyped to be? The hell w 2027, let's get behind our team for 2026! And, yes, I have followed the jets since 1969, and haven't forgot the Kotite years. l.
im always hoping for them to be a competitive team. there have been times when i just wanted to see certain guys go no matter how bad it had to be. but for the most part lets hope for a good off season, that can build into a decent team in the next couple years. oh and arch manning sucks.
I don't think there were too many people who recently posted about actually hoping for the whole season 2026 tank at this time. In October though it may be a very different story!
I agree. Not so many on this board who want a full 2026 tank (a few) , but I have read that often by other jet "fans" on the internet. But, I really think the jets have upgraded their coaching staff, and have a great chance for improvement thru the next draft. But they can't waste the high picks like Douglas did.
A friend of mine and I were discussing the upcoming season the other day and I said, "You know it's really bad when hoping for mediocrity feels like a good thing. .500, woo! Then again, since its been a shitty, unnecessary 17 game season, there is no .500 for the Jets. Typical." Look at it this way. 3-14 it's kind of like the old 3-13 . . . but it's really not. It's worse.
I like your optimism, but I think when it comes to the Jets most especially it all depends on how you come hardwired out of the womb. I feel downright nostalgic and misty-eyed over the halcyon days of The Lord (Chad Pennington) and the promise it held. Holy Smokes, what could have been. It's so depressing. I haven't felt that way since. Don't be confused. I've been depressed ever since. I've never felt as hopeful is what I meant. That includes the Brett Pevre experiment that I was initially delusional about, and certainly not when Aaron Rodgers came here. Did he get hit by a bus yet?
