    What?

That's not what the organizational chart on the team's website says and that has been updated to reflect Duker as the DC.

You may be repeating something from many years ago when Woody was out of the country.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and guarantee Mougey won't be the 2nd coming of the Idzik 12 on draft day. I doubt if he'll go after a headcase like JD did and give up prime draft capital in the process either. I agree this draft is DM's big chance to step up to just below Howie Rosen class of GM/Pres. For all our sakes, lets hope he doesn't fck this up.

J79, La and Cm... I would agree that DM maybe leading the team long term plans. I think the nail in AG coffin was December game loses when Woody choose not attending the last three games. That is significant and no matter what the pundents in the media say about Woody and AG relationship.

Its not just the amount of loses, and I expect there will be a lot, it will be how this years collection of players (notice I say collection not team) can play as a "team" competitively. IMHO, if they are unprepared and undisciplined he will be fired.... Right now this organization is an embarrassment to the NFL and a laughing stock ....

I would venture to say if they lose 3 games to start the season in the same manner they played in December,,,he will be fired. And, I'll say good riddances to this incopentent arrogant ass.

Woody deserves that. He hired Glenn after that horrible Lions showing against Washington when Daniels tore that defense apart. I can’t remember how many times the camera showed Glenn with that dazed confused look on his face. A few days later he hires him anyway ….

Yup…just like we fucking RAN to hire Gase after Miami fired him…there was NO need to do it. And yeah, I get that Woody was in England and Chris was “running the show”, but I seriously doubt that Chris would do that with no input from Woody…phone calls had to have happened.

Without reading any of this yet (sorry), what happens to the Invisible Man, Hymie Elhai? He is President of the Jets and now Darren Mougey will be President of Football Operations. Are they one of the same or completely different? I'm thinking player personnel? Are they intertwined? DOES IT EVEN MATTER? YES, I'M YELLING.

I thought Hymen was a contracts guy, not personnel. His title is ceremonial, not functional. I think he gets the Coffee from Dunkins in the morning on the way to the office.

You mean for Mike McCaggnan? So was that when Elhai was hired in 2019 or when McCaggnan was fired in 2019? Here's your coffee, you caffeine fiend, now GTFO? Something like that? o_O

Maybe Mougey realized that the great play of the great players that he traded was being wasted on a bad team lead by a bad head coach. If true, he was smart to trade away that talent for future talent for when the Jets (G-d willing) have a better head coach. I was willing to give Glenn another chance but after the firing of Engstrand AND the way it occurred, I'm done with him. Unfortunately, it's too late to fire him for this upcoming season, so we have to suffer with his nonsense for at least part of the next season.

The Jets got a new chief data and analytics Officer. He's a very bright guy. I was friends with him in high school. SB!

Assuming the Moug follows up with a stellar draft, AG gets shitcanned enroute to the #1 overall pick in '27. Armed with another 2 first rounders the NYJ job goes from dog-shit to highly appealing to whatever top HC is available next offseason - this is my hope...

It’s actually 3 first rounders in ‘27 but I think you’re right. I think this is the plan going forward….

Hymie is obviously the mastermind behind making the Jets a splendid financial success without having to sniff the Wins column.

    He'll be fine.

Looking at the transition of the CS and the '26 Schedule, I see another 3-14. I doubt Glenn can survive another 0-7 start which fits with the priority of getting some experience in the bldg just in case a mid-year change happens at HC.

New Staff on both sides of the ball, precious little time to implement new systems not to mention the CS getting familiar with their players and we're looking at another trainwreck in '26. If Harbaugh gets the Giants to be competitive with the Eagles or other contending NFC teams, Woody will pull the plug on the AG era because he won't have any other choice IF he wants the fanbase to stay engaged. This is where the dual reporting fails. Mougey should be the one making this decision based on performance not Woody.

In light of all these factors, I'm hoping Mougey is contingency planning just in case this scenario plays out. If he's the GM we all hope he is, this has to be one of the things he's thought about.

If he starts out at that, this would be one of those times where Woody's usual policy (now former policy) of not making coaching changes in season would be advantageous. If Glenn starts 0-7, they shouldn't fire him. Let him keep the tank going for the rest of the season to secure the #1 pick. We wouldn't want a week or two bump in performance to come from a mid season coaching change to cause us to miss out on 0-17 by a game or two and cost us the #1 pick.

Do you really think Woody and/or this fanbase has the stomach for back to back tank years? I highly doubt it. The Jets were destroyed this morning on Unsportsmanslike. We're talking an epic shit on the entire Jet organization. They were laughing on-air at the Jets. Woody skipped the last 3 games of the season. You really think he's gonna do that again?

No, I don't expect him to do it. It would be in the best interest of the franchise, so we know it's not going to happen.

I also don't expect Woody to wait until 0-7. I've got Week 4 or 5. If there's an early October game in London, we can go ahead and circle in pen the following Monday as the day that Woody makes the change.

But, if he did somehow wait until 0-7, the season is over anyway. Might as well keep the tank going. I can't imagine he's going to lose any more fans between 0-8 and 0-17 that he hasn't already lost or will lose by the time 0-7 rolls around.

I only see one home win in '26 and that happens against the Raiders IF Mendoza doesn't start his HOF career against us his first game.

The Jets can and will probably win 2 games maybe 3. That doesn’t mean they don’t get the #1 pick either … they lost it this year on percentage points with 3 wins.
