What? That's not what the organizational chart on the team's website says and that has been updated to reflect Duker as the DC. You may be repeating something from many years ago when Woody was out of the country.
I'm gonna go out on a limb here and guarantee Mougey won't be the 2nd coming of the Idzik 12 on draft day. I doubt if he'll go after a headcase like JD did and give up prime draft capital in the process either. I agree this draft is DM's big chance to step up to just below Howie Rosen class of GM/Pres. For all our sakes, lets hope he doesn't fck this up.
J79, La and Cm... I would agree that DM maybe leading the team long term plans. I think the nail in AG coffin was December game loses when Woody choose not attending the last three games. That is significant and no matter what the pundents in the media say about Woody and AG relationship. Its not just the amount of loses, and I expect there will be a lot, it will be how this years collection of players (notice I say collection not team) can play as a "team" competitively. IMHO, if they are unprepared and undisciplined he will be fired.... Right now this organization is an embarrassment to the NFL and a laughing stock .... I would venture to say if they lose 3 games to start the season in the same manner they played in December,,,he will be fired. And, I'll say good riddances to this incopentent arrogant ass.
Woody deserves that. He hired Glenn after that horrible Lions showing against Washington when Daniels tore that defense apart. I can’t remember how many times the camera showed Glenn with that dazed confused look on his face. A few days later he hires him anyway ….
Yup…just like we fucking RAN to hire Gase after Miami fired him…there was NO need to do it. And yeah, I get that Woody was in England and Chris was “running the show”, but I seriously doubt that Chris would do that with no input from Woody…phone calls had to have happened.
Without reading any of this yet (sorry), what happens to the Invisible Man, Hymie Elhai? He is President of the Jets and now Darren Mougey will be President of Football Operations. Are they one of the same or completely different? I'm thinking player personnel? Are they intertwined? DOES IT EVEN MATTER? YES, I'M YELLING.
I thought Hymen was a contracts guy, not personnel. His title is ceremonial, not functional. I think he gets the Coffee from Dunkins in the morning on the way to the office.
You mean for Mike McCaggnan? So was that when Elhai was hired in 2019 or when McCaggnan was fired in 2019? Here's your coffee, you caffeine fiend, now GTFO? Something like that?
Maybe Mougey realized that the great play of the great players that he traded was being wasted on a bad team lead by a bad head coach. If true, he was smart to trade away that talent for future talent for when the Jets (G-d willing) have a better head coach. I was willing to give Glenn another chance but after the firing of Engstrand AND the way it occurred, I'm done with him. Unfortunately, it's too late to fire him for this upcoming season, so we have to suffer with his nonsense for at least part of the next season.
The Jets got a new chief data and analytics Officer. He's a very bright guy. I was friends with him in high school. SB! Tech executive transactions
