Agreed. Problem is coaches and GMs on the hot seat do everything they can not to tank.

I agree - this is why I am saying the worst possible thing they can do is bring in an average to below average QB that gets us 5 or 6 wins and takes us out of the top couple of picks but similarly the coaching staff will know another 2 or 3 win season and they are gone so they will be desperate to get in a better QB (the problem is there is nobody available that is going to do better than another losing season just one with a couple more wins.

We are just both incompetent and also cursed at the same time. In 15 years, you could make play-offs just by accident. Twice we got #2 pick in what was a 1 QB draft. We get Rodgers when we still had good defense and STs, and he is out for the year 4 plays in. Never got seriously hurt before or after. Just crazy.

And I am not convinced we can trade up to get a QB next year even with three 1st round picks. In 2024 the Giants tried to trade up into top 3 to draft Maye and were told to fuck off. You think if Manning is there at #1 whoever is picking will trade the pick? I don't think so. Or if Moore actually improves from the great season he already had and looks like a polished version of what we have seen plus all the physical tools he already has, the team is trading the pick? Hell no.

This is why this is the lowest of the low. No hope to play well with this joke of a coach, no young QB to give hope for 2027, and given our cursed luck, we probably win 4-6 games, just enough to miss out on a top QB. If there are 4 great QBs in the next draft, we are picking #5 and no one is trading down.

    Hey...Jets are gonna Jet!

You know, there are times I really wished Johnson actually read this board. MAYBE move the needle a bit. Then my dumb ass comes back to earth and realizes that it wouldn't matter if he did. He thinks he knows everything and, regardless, couldn't give 2 ass fucks about the fans, period. All that shit stain cares about is headlines.

Come on man, we are going to trade out of #2 this year for Stidham and more picks next year. We'll have all the draft capital in the world, and end up not taking a QB next year either. It's gonna be great. Aaron Glenn to the HOF as a coach.

Delirious is more fun, guys. Give it a shot.

The thing is Stidham is not a bad QB. And honestly not a bad option as a bridge QB for us next year. I think he’s going to do well tomorrow vs the Pats and kick their ass to the curb.

Not sure if he’s a FA or not but if he is it’s not a bad idea at all. Especially coming from Sean Payton’s offensive scheme. He also won’t break the bank on a 2 year deal of some sort.

I don’t know about any of that, but I sure do hope he beats the Pats…I can’t stomach seeing them in another Super Bowl

No lover of the Broncos here, but I’d rather see them go than the fucking Pats

I can't see Makai Lemon still sitting there at 16, but if he is and the Jets let him slip by, I'll break my tv and drive to your house to break yours too. He's the only player in this draft i can say that about.

Rumor is that Brady was ga-ga over Mendoza at the CFP. I hope this one is true. No surprise to you, I know. I'd rather he be off the board by Pick #2.

No one in a right frame of mind is trading away a opportunity to draft a Manning QB #1 overall.

If the Jets want Arch they have to finish #1.

And you forgot one in your first paragraph the following season with a healthy Rodgers the owner fired the head coach five games into the season.

It's a toss up between Stidham and just running the wildcat, so we won't need to waste any roster spots on QBs LOL

    Stop-stop-stop-stop-stop….. Lalalalalalala….. not listening….. not listening…. Lalalalalalala….

If 2025 is going to be the year the football gods evacuate their bowels on Jets fans with a steamy, five-burrito masterpiece, trading for Jared Stidham would be the final, glorious last shart. Right after all the Kraft and Belichick HOF selection retrospectives we’re about to start seeing.

All last week I’m hearing NFL yackers pimping a guy who had one pretty good college season where he beat both Alabama and Georgia. But no one anywhere, anyhow, in the SEC or elsewhere, ever uttered the words, “Oh shit, we have Stidham next week.”

Pressing pause on my goofing around, Rock, I don’t 100% disagree with your point, but I have a slightly different spin. My working theory for McDaniels trading for Stidham as his first move in Las Vegas (and then dumping a Brinks truck on Garroppolo) and Payton signing him as his first move in Denver (and then using a 1st Round pick on Bo Nix) is that Jared Stidham is the greatest scout team and preseason QB in the history of the NFL. He’ll keep QB1 honest wherever he goes. And if THAT’s the reason the Jets acquire him, or to your point, as a short-term bridge guy, I could live with that. As long as we’re all clear - the first “Time to Start Stiddy” thread I see, I’m switching to a Women’s college field hockey board.
