I'd be happy for Darnold to win the Super Bowl over New England, he's a good guy and I hope he succeeds. I don't really have any negative feelings toward the Seahawks either. Poor guys got robbed by Vinny's helmet back in the day.
They also gifted the evil empire another championship. And birthed Cris Collinsworth. Fuck the Seahawks.
I just want to see the Pats lose…I fucking hate that team and that will never change now I am no Broncos fan either I’ll be rooting for the NFC team whichever it is…
Did we really need a thread on "I was right and you were wrong" when it comes to the QB of the Jets? Seriously?
Ugh, that play call by Carroll has to be the A Number One most stupid jackass play in Super Bowl history. I don't think the look on Richard Sherman's face can ever truly sum up how stupid it was. It's STILL mind numbingly dumb all of these years later. In that moment Pete Carroll forgot himself and thought he was still somehow the HC of the New York Jets. Had he not been fired and the Jets made it there under him, that's the play he's calling on us. You know, I know it, we all know it, and we all thought it when it happened. Look on the bright side. At least we were theoretically spared!
We have little else going for us right now. Patriots are in the championship game and draft is a few months away.
Kinda odd. He looked like such a doofus in that helmet it's kind of hard to forget. Where I was done for him for life was when he carried on after the Chris Baker push out on a TD that it was the right call (not a TD ==> the refs got it egregiously wrong), and when the SAME EXACT THING happened in Cleveland but it clearly WASN'T a TD, he carried on how much the Browns got robbed. Idiot. Not you, him.
I’ve never seen any GM in the league mismanage the QB position over the course of 6 years as badly as JD. From a personnel, strategy, and decision making standpoint, it was truly remarkably awful.
I was all-in on Penei Sewell (and keeping Darnold) instead of drafting Zach. I haven't changed my opinion.
You can also say that about how he managed the OL Or on the other hand, you could also say that about how the Jets historically have managed the QB position since Namath…in like 50+ years we’ve found O’Brien, Penny, and that’s about it as far as success on our team…
Most owners would have pulled the plug before giving the GM that many chances to swing big and whiff. Woody Johnson is the worst owner in professional sports. Who else ever abandoned their team after leaving the country for four years? No one else ever cared so little.
8 games is not even breaking even to begin with (8-9 is squarely in the losing column). That said, yes it is absolutely too much to ask from this franchise. I think I said this somewhere else - Bill Walsh won't be able to dig out of 4-13 hell hole if he was stuck here. P.S. I didn't give you crap for shitting on JD, did I? (I don't recall doing that - I've pulled the plug on this franchise by then) if I did, I apologize. I was pulling my hair out when the Jets drafted QBs they shouldn't have drafted (The list is long - Mark Sanchez, Geno Smith, Christian Hackenberg, Bryce Petty, and ZACH WILSON) I was also pulling my hair out when the Jets didn't draft a QB they should have (Derek Carr + Davante Adams) Then I realized this team is just not good for my heart. P.S.2. I also think Sam got a raw deal here. (Basically this entire fucking organization is thoroughly clueless - I'm glad he got a shot at Superbowl.)
