Bailey is 2 years older than Reese right? So I think the question would be whether we think Reese with 2 more years of experience would be a better player than Bailey is now. I am inclined to think he would be.

I think what it comes down to is Bain is the high floor guy, Reese is the potential home run, and Bailey is who you take if you trade down more than a few spots.

I’d like to see them draft Bain plus LB Anthony Hill with that first second round pick either at #33 or if they trade down to #36 or so…those would be two great building blocks for this defense….both seem to be high character guys too.

I like Hill too. I’d rather build the box out first.

Then offense with the other two picks.

Yes something along those lines…. I think with the second first rounder they may go WR but I’m hoping it’s a WR with size like Boston. With #44 it can be the best available player maybe a S or a DT or even a guard…

I know we need Defense, but I don’t want to wait on a WR. I think WR is just as big a need as DL is, especially as our QB is not going to be some great player most likely…he’s gonna need the help.

Yeah, Bailey is two years older than Reese. I also think he can develop in two years to be better, but it is still far from certain. We are basically saying that Reese in two years can gain 7 lb of muscle, switch to almost full time Edge (a la Parsons), learn and polish the moves that Bailey already has, be good enough to lead the FBS in sacks, #2 in TFLs, top rated by all accredited agencies by NCAA (Bailey was unanimous all American), PFF (he was top rated overall DE this year there and #2 in pass rush last year), etc... AND on top of it be a better run defender as a DE, where Bailey improved a lot from last year, but not as good as someone like Bain. I actually think he can do it, but am I not certain at all, it's a projection and the one that requires quite significant development.

I think the fact Bain and Bailey are both in Sr Bowl is excellent. we could learn a lot. Things could be a bit more clear in 10 days.

Can anyone speak to whether Reese could fit as an LB for us if he fails at edge? Might soften the blow a bit if he busts as an edge rusher.

Denzel Boston from Washington would fit the bill for me. Good size 6’4” creates separation and can make the contested catch - sounds like a great compliment to Wilson….

Malachi Fields is the kid I like. Might be able to get day 3 as well. He’s going to shoot up draft boards after the combine I’m pretty sure. Big, fast, strong hands and has hops. He’s also good FBI being a former quarterback. He could be the steal of the draft.

I saw somewhere that said Bain's floor is Sean Ellis. I am on with that! We also have to consider locker room impact, Bain could be the captain of this team in like 1 year

What do you think about trying sign Alec Pierce? I like his size and he'll be 26 when the season starts.

I’d be all for it but I imagine it wouldn’t be very easy getting him to come to NY especially with the QB situation.

seen some comps to Amon Ra St. Brown with Lemon. But I havent seen him play much, those comps could just be the USC thing

I think it’s more than a USC thing. He’s that good. Catches everything, runs every route, not tall but he plays big. I see him as a blend between ASB and Zay Flowers. Ironically, Lemon is getting mocked to the Ravens at 14 a lot lately. If he’s WR1 in this class when we look back in three years I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised.

The only thing I don’t like about Lemon is his size. The Jets need a big WR on the outside. Now if they were to sign say Alec Pierce in FA then I’d be OK with drafting Lemon. That would remake the WR room and greatly help the next QB….
