Another example of a team having an MVP caliber QB and not automatically winning SB trophies (or appearances).
They averaged 28.2 PPG with Dorsey by himself in 2022. They fired him after 10 games in 2023 and they were averaging 26.2 PPG at that point. Under Brady, they averaged 27 PPG the remaining 7 regular season games. There hasn’t been much of a different between any of the coordinators Allen has played with.
Winning a SB comes down to so many things and a slice of luck but you have to be in it to win it and having an MVP quality QB at least gets you a ticket pretty much every year - after Allens rookie season they have been to the playoffs every year
If any of the big name coaches called Woody and told him that HC of the NYJ is their dream job I think he would can AG. McDermott is likely the highest probability and that's less than 1% unless he wants revenge
Funny part is there are/were 10 openings and if we canned AG not one would bring him in except maybe to fulfill the Rooney rule. He wouldn't even get one of these DC jobs, speaks volumes.
besides the style. Brady is weird AF. Guys running routes right next to each other, and more backwards passes than the world has seen
And have the #2 pick in a 1 QB draft. It's so fucking Jets to be locked into Glenn when there are major HC's out there this cycle...
Dont listen to these guys (especially BrowningNagle) they have no idea wtf they are talking about when it comes to the bills o-coordinators lol.
I’d have hired (and still would) ANY of McCarthy, McDermott, Harbaugh, Tomlin, Stefanski, Kingsbury, Kubiak in a fucking split second. Like a no fucking brainer second. ANY of them would be better…obviously no way we would have attracted top shelf candidates like Harbaugh or Tomlin even with all our picks just because Woody is such a fucking idiot, but any of the other guys would be in play even if only because we have cap space and picks, and we can go get a QB next year in the draft if we don’t draft one this year. Stefanski to me would have been great…dude won a playoff game with the fucking Browns…that’s impressive. McCarthy wanted the job once and should have been our choice instead he went on to take the Cowboys to the playoffs. But yeah, ANY of those guys would be better than a second year with AG which will most likely be his last year here, possible mid-season.
Not that I want Glenn back because I don't see any reason to keep him, but I'm pretty sure if he got fired we would be watching each of these guys either take a different job or take a year off of coaching to "mull things over" while the Jets hire some mook that has little experience and less leadership ability. I know people point to the Patriots as a team that fired their HC after a single season but when it's the Patriots doing it, it's a little different than when the Jets are doing it. I doubt any candidate would equate the two teams for a second. And I think the secret is out that when you coach for the Jets, you have to let a drunken simp like Woody Johnson tell you how football works
So Terry Pegula thought it would be a good idea to publicly say that the GM didn't want their notorious bust first round WR (who is still employed) and blamed it on the coach. Glad to see dysfunction isn't contained to just us.
I would take Dick Van Dyke, the guy is still kicking and has all of his marbles, but it's a name that would get you canceled in a New York Minute today, so I can't see it happening. I would take also Dick Van Dyke over Alex Van Dyke. I think.
