It appears Woody Johnson's worst nightmare is about to become reality. Giants and Falcons are the front runners for Harbaugh.

Two NFL teams 'believed' to be finalists for John Harbaugh

If the Giants get Harbaugh, Glenn and the Jets become an afterthought in this market. Woody's inaction due to his refusal to hire a successful HC will be the reason why the last of the fan base will "let go of the rope".

Tik Tok Woody. It's later than you think...

You know he's not going to do that. We have extensive empirical evidence of what he actually does (usually in this order but not always - mix and match as you please):

    - hire no name coach with no experience
    - THEN hire the GM in his infinite reverse logic wisdom
    - draft a young quarterback
    - stay out of things for the most part for a year or two
    - when the coach (or quarterback) starts to flounder, and the fans (this is the important part) start to rebel to the point where the Jets are a media circus, he steps in and forces a different direction - USUALLY with a top name (over the hill) quarterback. Sometimes at other positions (see: Reddick)
    - rinse, repeat

The process is so disjointed that you have GMs and coaches with different priorities, you have the coach involved in hiring his own boss - who ultimately isn't really his boss anyway because they both report to Woody.

If he would AT LEAST just hire a GM and let him do what he needs to do - nevermind a football operations guy - we'd be much better off. But no - he's the very definition of an idiot who never learns and keeps trying the same crap hoping lightning will strike eventually.

    Well said…exactly right

That’s the crazy thing to me…any person with half a brain could look back and see the pattern and the results it brings and realize that maybe, just maybe, it would be better to try a different approach.

    But not Woody.

He has got to be the stupidest fucking imbecile in the league…if I hadn’t been watching this unfold over the years in real time, and you just explained this chain of events, I wouldn’t believe it. He has literally done this 6 of the last 7 times with rookie DCs, and the one outlier was an idiotic hire of Adam Gase whom EVERYONE knew sucked and was a terrible hire…everyone but fucking Woody and his idiot brother Chris

So in a January where we could have possibly had harbaugh, Tomlin, McCarthy, …. Woodrow Johnson decides it’s best to stick with the db, whose team couldn’t force one int. The coach whose team got historically worse in December. Can’t make it up

Well stated and I agree/feel the exact same way. I go back to the early 1970's and the days of Charley Winner, Lou Holtz, Ken Shipp and the hideousness that was NY Jets football before Walt Michaels took over and turned it around. Back then I had hope because I was a dumb kid. I was one of the 15 idiots sitting in Shea stadium freezing my ass off watching a hideous 3-11 football team lose every game, but at that time, I wanted to be nowhere else! Now, I cannot even watch them and I don't. I used to go to T/C @ Hofstra 3-4 times each Summer, and blow hundreds of dollars on Jets gear. I have not bought anything Jets related in over 15 years due to the embarrassment it carries, nor do I wear anything that has Jets on it, except a workout sweatshirt that I actually wear inside out!

They are a disgrace to all sports.

Yup…I go back to the Walt Michaels days as well…in Shea with that damn fucking dirt infield. We’ve always been a doormat of a franchise, but when I was younger I just loved the team.

I can’t manage to let go of my fandom even though I haven’t lived in NY since 1986…but I haven’t bought any Jets gear in a long time…

My son got me a Jets hat…18 years ago. That was the LAST Jets “anything.” I wouldn’t give Johnson Jack.

I didn't go to the games at the end of the season.

I had wanted to go to the Atlanta & Miami games but couldn't go because of work. When I saw what was happening at the end of the season with the weekly blowout losses I had no desire to go to the games.

Patriots 2.5-point favorites against the Texans.

They will win that one and beat the Broncos because Bo got Nixed.

    Pats in the Superbowl again...

Why am I a Jet fan?

for the first time ever yesteday i decided i hate the pats. maybe even more than the dolphins at this point. for them to have things set up so nicely for them again like many years just makes me sick, easy ass schedule, first round bye, pretty easy 2nd round with a team without a real qb and injuries at numerous other positions now onto denver who has no qb. its sickening. why did joe namath put this hex on the jets.

Even If Woody wanted to make a change, they is not a chance in a million he would hire Mike Tomlin. Tomlin is a huge liberal and he constantly bashes President Trump. Tomlin and his wife held a fund raiser at Tomlin's house in 2016 for Hillary Clinton. Woody is a good friend of Trump, and was Trump's pick for Ambassador to England. No way Woody would offer Tomlin a job, and no way Tomlin would take it if offered. Don't think politics doesn't matter w those guys.

Which is WHY I need to see those Epstein files. A useless piece of shit, like Trump, is bound to have other useless pieces of shit, like Johnson, in on his merry band of pedophiles ring. Seems like the “thing to do” with these grossly rich people.

Anything to get this fucker’s hands OFF our beloved team!!

McDermott and Tomlin. Either is better than Aaron Glenn for all I can tell.

Will Woody make it happen? Yeah. Right. Absolutely.

He had a chance to bring Vrabel last year. He didn't. No reason to think he'd hire a competent HC, then step away for a minute or two. Woody is a tool.
