These people are fools, they interview guys with no DC background and think that magically thatwill fix this train wreck of a team... No that is wrong, we do not have a team, we have a collection of players with no leadership or emotion.... what a CF.

It's been a PR nightmare that he wasn't fired.

There's a palpable sense of despair around the organization because of that decision.

Yes, and usually the PR is enough to get Woody to do something

This time he’s sitting with his thumb up his ass

I’m guessing because he gave Glenn a 5 year deal and doesn’t want to eat 4 years of it now…though honestly the chances are pretty high that he’s going to suck next year, maybe even suck bad enough to get fired mid-season…so it just feels like he’s going to eat a lot of it anyway.

Except firing him now would be the way to go for so many reasons….lots of strong candidates from the offensive side of the ball, a treasure trove of high picks combined with plenty of cap space to serve as a good enticement to get a coach that maybe otherwise wouldn’t consider this dumpster fire of a franchise. Doing it now would be logical, thoughtful, organized. Doing it midseason later would be wasting another year.

    But Jets gonna Jet…

15 years ago today the Jets reversed a 45-3 regular season loss with a 28-14 win over Brady’s pats in the divisional playoff game

Our last moment of glory if I’m not mistaken…is that the Can’t Wait year, when we went and lost to the Steelers the next week and then haven’t made the playoffs since?

Right now I’m waiting to see if Vegas is going to lay odds on some of the more terrible Records to be broken by the Jets in 2026. Saving some $ to place some bets.

I'm actually looking forward to the record odds for next year to come out. I wonder if there have ever been other sophomore coaches who's projected win total the second year are actually less than the 1st year, that would be hilarious and disgusting at the same time...

Recently it's been done by other teams. New England did it so they could hire Vrabel. Las Vegas fired Carrol possibly a HOF coach after one year.

We have to hope for a miracle that this HC & staff not only get a clue but do what they do well.

In fairness, he made his way around a few teams as well. Bottom line, jets will have that foundation we didn’t have with Darnold with all these picks but how will we get our QB?

really hope Malik Willis can be that guy

The more I see this clip the more I think of when Ringling Bros introduced the "unicorn" in their circus in the 80s and it was a mountain goat with a horn glued to it's forehead.

Amazing that that one throw added at least 5 years to the playoff drought.

It cannot be overstated how terrible Joe Douglas was as a GM

Agreed. You miss on the second overall pick that badly on a QB. You can’t survive. Aaron rogers was a desperate move. Good for Mougey to rip the band aid off and build this again. It’s the right move whether we like it or not.

The O-line that he put out there year in and year out was arguably as bad as whiffing on the #2 pick.

Wasn't he jumping up and down after he traded up to draft the YAC king

That might be his biggest "achievement" as the GM.

    3 receptions for 16 yards and a 1st down

You know, I absolutely HATED Idzik and then McCagnon SO MUCH as I thought they were terrible…

Idzik - there is NOTHING good to say about this guy…Korn Ferry was clueless and gave us just a cap guy with no personnel background and it showed…he got credit for creating cap room but that credit is way overstated…he did two obvious things that anyone could have done…he cut Sanchez and Holmes out of those ridiculous contracts they had. No brainers both of them, so no credit deserved. It was bad enough that he whiffed just about every fucking draft pick he made, but that one year when he had, what 12 or 14 picks or something crazy like that…THAT was a year you should trade…no team can absorb that many rookies. He should either have traded back for future picks, or traded up to get a better player, but no way should he have made them all. The fact that they all busted was just gravy. One of the worst GM’s I’ve ever seen. Never got another GM gig and while he did get another NFL front office role I think, he’s long gone from that as far as I know.

MacCagnon - well after Idzik, you’d think it couldn’t get any worse, but then along comes Charley fucking Casserly to say Hold my Beer. Fucking geezer gives us his protege. Mac had no fucking philosophy on how to build a team. He came flat out and said OL wasn’t worth using high picks on. Oh OK genius. Then he wastes first rounders on the worst positions…twice!! He picked a safety and he picked a DT twice. He fucking chose Q when he had just drafted Williams. He will NEVER live down Hackenberg, and how that led to passing on drafting both Mahomes and Watson for a guy that never played a live down of NFL ball. Just an awful guy with no workable strategy on how to build a team. My lingering image of him will always be him just walking around the field holding a coffee cup. What a fucking loser. Another guy who never got another GM gig.

These were two of the worst, and I’d be remiss to not mention another fucking clown in Terry Bradway…the guy who traded a first round pick for a 2nd rounder and Doug fucking Jolley from the Raiders, and then went ahead and used that pick to draft a fucking kicker! You can’t make this shit up.

So with clowns like THAT running our team, no wonder we fucking suck.

But after that, when we hired JD, I was so hopeful. He had the pedigree and the resume. He worked with Philly and Baltimore, two of the best front offices in the league. To this day, I’ll still say I agree with his strategy on team building…build the OL and DL first and go out from there. Totally. Problem is, he didn’t do it. He blew so many draft picks. He placed way too much faith in Becton being able to stay healthy long past the time when it was obvious he couldn’t. He whiffed 100% on Zach and that was the one he couldn’t bounce back from. He had one really great draft, but the rest were mediocre and he passed on too many good players. He also did what Mougey just did…traded away an All Pro in Adams for 2 first round picks.

But he’s the one who surprised me. When we hired Idzik and Mac, I don’t think anyone had those guys marked as leading candidates…I think the reaction on both of those hires from pretty much everyone was something like “…they hired WHO???”

Not so with JD…he came highly touted.

His was the biggest disappointment because of that.

I was very wrong on him.

We’ll see how Mougey plays out…the tearing down is the easy part. It’s not hard to cut players or trade away the few good players you have. He’ll get very little credit from me on that. JD did the same with Adams too. But the hard part is the actual building part. So he took a look at our roster and decided he needed a full on tear down…personally I’m not sure we did…I think the defensive talent looked horrid this year but many of these same players looked much better under Saleh, so I blame the coaching more than anything. But like any new GM, he wants HIS guys so he traded away our two best defenders to gain an arsenal so he can go get his guys.

Proof will be in the pudding…his first draft was ok…I’d say a about a C+/B- or so…Membou looks good (not a probowler or ROTY guy but definitely potential), I like Taylor ok, and we’ll see about the corner and the safety, they looked ok as well. No superstars but some pretty good guys. Not the best draft we’ve had, but far from the worst. I’ll take it for his first draft.

But he needs to nail these next two drafts and he needs to find a QB.

Those will be the litmus tests.

At least I’ll say this…I fell better about Mougey than I do about Glenn.
