Once NE opened, yes he played him. But if it DID NOT open or if we made him an offer earlier, I think it could have been different. It's all speculation at this point. But maybe for next year, if he fired Glenn early, and say interviews McCarthy in Dec and really really likes him, it might make sense to pull the trigger then.
In fairness to Harbaugh, no one was getting through the Patriots, Brady was just too much of a force to be reckoned with and was always the difference maker against everyone. Harbaugh is going to have his hands full in the NFC as well, Eagles, Niners, Seattle, Cowboys are not going to be easy to get through. I still love the hire for Giants because he’s a top 5 HC and it breaks my heart as a Jets fan that once again Giants get things to fall their way, maybe we can get him at 70 years of age like we did with Parcells.
Has anyone said Glenn couldn't scout well? If he's got a hand in helping Mougey identify the talent then, apparently, he seems to know his stuff. Coaching the players, on the other hand, seems to elude him.
If this hire means the Giants beat the Cheats twice in the SB again, I'm all for it. Such is the depth of my hatred for the Cheats . . . and I hate the Giants to be clear.
