And the Eagles GM just made a similar public comment about AJ Brown.

Both to me sound more like a standard attempt to not display a position of weakness and while talking up a guy's potential trade value.

We shall see but I don't think they're giving up on Penix yet.

He also signed Cousins to what? A top 5 AAV contract and then drafted a QB at 7 two months later. So I’m not entirely sure Arthur Blank really knows what’s going to change in the offseason at this present moment.

Regardless, the Falcons would put a head coach in an awful position to not have a viable backup for a guy whose torn ACL’s 5 times in like 8 years and can’t take snaps under center because of it.

And what you said was not an opinion at least how you phrased it “make no mistake..” Not picking on you, just an observation. You are obviously very strong in your convictions.

That’s only what I predict not what I necessarily want. I never liked Jones myself.

    They'll trade a high draft pick(s) for a veteran.

I just hope we don’t give up anything for guys like Kyler, Cousins, or Mac Jones. I wouldn’t want any of those guys even if they were free agents.

I’d rather trade for a Davis Mills, I don’t know as much about Tanner McKee other than Howie Roseman knows what he’s doing so I’d be fine with him assuming he’d come a bit cheaper.

Slim pickings for sure, and with no one in the draft (wouldn’t be the first time we get the 2nd pick in a one QB draft), there’s no clear answer. I liked Mateer but he’s going back to school as well. Simpson doesn’t jump out as a great prospect really…Just nothing after Mendoza. Free agency is weak. Unless Mougey pulls off some kind of unexpected trade I think we need to get ready to embrace another year of suck, with the only bright spot being the hope that it gets AG fired and we get a real HC to use a bunch of good picks in 2027.

Atlanta will never let him walk, that would be franchise suicide.

In fact, most of these people we are talking about will not be leaving their current teams because the quarterback environment is so bad…

I am very worried Glenn might get a guy like Kyler. Expensive, not much upside, injury prone, drama, but can be enough to win 6-7 games. This type of guy is absolutely the worst case scenario for us. At least guys like McKee or Mills can give a potential upside, and if it does not work, we probably pick high in the next draft.

I also think if Simpson is there at 16 I would take him if he measures out 6-2. I understand the probability is not that great, but kind of like the Giants and Dart, I felt he showed enough to be that mid/late 1st round lottery pick. Nothing to be excited about, but just to hedge my bets really. And if he does not show much and we have a high pick next year I would Josh Rosen him at that point.

I bet Nussmeier has a good senior bowl and ends up getting drafted higher than that. I'd take a late round flier on Diego Pavia. Kid is the QB version of Skattebo and is going to make teams pay for passing on him in the draft. Plus I think the Jets need that hard edge mentality since it's something we are clearly lacking.

I just really hope we don't reach for any of these guys, desperate staff making desperation moves.

    You might be right.

Pavia’s a lot of fun as a college player but he’s probably 5’9” at most dude. He’s not a NFL QB unfortunately. I wish he was, cause he’s a dog.

My two cents. What I would like to happen is:

    1. The Jets make an offer to Raiders they can't refuse, Jets draft Mendoza....if not then...
    2. Jets sign Malik Willis from GB. He had impressive outings filling in for Love. He's young and I think he is a FA so it won't cost any picks or personnel.
    3. I don't have a serious objection to signing Mac Jones. From what I've seen since he left NE, he's improved a lot.
    4. I don't mind the Jets drafting either Simpson or Chambliss, but not in the 1st round. I don't like small QB's because they have limited passing lanes and these two are on the small side.
    5. These being the NY Jets they will probably re-sign Joe Flacco, LOL.

I see a lot of Malik Willis to the Steelers and Dolphins with some reports speculating the Colts, Viking or Cardinals being in play. None say the Jets because frankly if you look at those teams above then look at us, well...

I’ve never been happier to see we’re not in play for a free agent. Willis has potential but only playing well under LaFleur is a red flag.

This is also why Mac Jones should be out for most as well.

Mac Jones is the most obvious case of fools gold possible.

Well, all I I know is that whoever you think is coming, Mac Jones Malik Willis, any decent quarterback will be dashed in favor of some scrub

Anybody else would be a miracle

They’d have to trade for Mac Jones. He’s not a FA.
