Great quote…I think very highly of Polian…a proven successful GM who built the Panthers from scratch, the Colts with Manning (and no matter how much he denies it on NFL Radio…they ABSOLUTELY tanked the season to get Manning by starting of all players Curtis Painter at QB!), and built Buffalo. The dude knows what the fuck he’s talking about. He is like the Parcells of GMs…builds teams into winners. That’s a great quote and makes sense.
If Moore enters the draft, then the obvious move by the Jets is to pick a top QB prospect at #2, but I feel Mougey will do something unexpected. For example, he'll trade the #2 pick and move DOWN in the 1st rnd, get an extra 1st rnd pick and select a QB prospect that is regarded as 2nd tier. Or trade down and not pick a QB and sign a veteran QB to start. After he received a haul of picks for Sauce and Quinnen, which nobody expected, I expect the unexpected from him.
Julian Sayin is not the answer here.... Knowing the jets, we won't tank right to get Arch. I don't like Moore personally but if this staff thinks he is coachable, you can't pass up on him.
Careful, I’ve used Polian’s name before and get ridiculed! I generally find his advice sound and pretty spot on. He’s one of the most cognizant 80 year olds I’ve ever come across. He’s also correct. The ONLY exception would be a guy like Reid, Shanahan or McVay as they have the Cred to tell Johnson to piss off…
Ahhh yes Polian. We should've gone after him like 10 years ago as the VP of Football Ops and have him build the whole damn franchise. I do remember the naysayers on here saying "oh he's too old". Well that take hasn't aged well I agree he's still one of the best football minds out there.
Coachable, maybe, but our problem is the utter LACK of coaching. The more I dig and the more I watch, I like Mateer. Trade down if possible, stockpile picks and you take Mateer (or someone of this caliber) with the late first or, if they think he falls, the 2nd rounder. Throw all the measurable crap in the trash and watch him play. I want PRODUCTION not potential. I want a gamer. If the headset fails, this is the kind of guy who will draw up a play in the dirt. No more REACHING!!! Moore may have gobs of talent but he is as raw a prospect as an uncooked Thanksgiving day Turkey and we do NOT have the horses to teach him shit!! At this point in time, that last sentence isn’t fact, it’s GOSPEL!!
Yes, yes, yes. Production trumps all. Well said. Everything else is just fool's gold and hoping which is never a good strategy. The Moore I;ve watched Moore there is no way I have him as even a top 5 QB in this draft. Sorry but nothing screams top reated stud QB. He looks just kinda meh and what's all theis talk about a beautiul arm? What tf does that even mean? Does he diamonads and gold hanging off his arm? I don't understand that statement. But I do know from watching him in the biggest games of his career against against Texas Tech he was just average and against Indiana he was downright awful. You don't use an uber valuable lottery pick on someone like that. Besides, Mendoza, I'd take Chambliss, Mateer, and several other QB's before I would touch Moore. Now I'm starting to wonder if it's just an Oregon system thing since they have so much damn skill position talent. Moore doesn't look overwhelmingly impressive as a prospect the way even Chambliss does. The eye test never fails.
This is what real ownership looks like https://x.com/i/status/2011470420235710733 #Patriots Owner Robert Kraft on the decision to fire Jerod Mayo: “I would say that was one of the one or two hardest decisions… It was very expensive… It’s the worst financial implication since we’ve owned the team. But, I’m a fan first… That’s on me.”
That really is top notch ownership and accountability to the product you put on the field and to your fanbase. Envious.
This too, Steelers have never had a rebuild yet we have had 30 in the meantime lol. https://x.com/i/status/2011517419593089244 Steelers owner Art Rooney II dismissed the idea of a rebuild under the team’s new head coach, via @bepryor:

No, no, all this talk of planets, when the Jets are actually the rings of debris circling Uranus. I don't mean that towards YOU personally. It was just s-o-o-o-o there, ha.
