What about Bain or Reese at 2 then package a couple picks including the 16 to get into the top 10 if Downs slides. He's going in most mocks to the Cheifs at 9, would trade up 8 spots to 8 and steal him.
Bain and Downs would be a hell of a start turning this D around.

Yeah that would make more sense to me

However, I think we REALLY need a WR, and I’d hate to not get one in the first round…

I’m fine trading back if Mougey can swing it, but I’d love to come out of round 1 with a pass rusher and a WR.

Easier, trade down from 2 to get Caleb Downs a bit lower.

You collect more assets + get a player that is dominant at his position and game changer.

I am not sure Bain, Reese are worth it at 2

And trading up (from 16) would remove some good assets. I also feel we could still get a very good DE or LB at that position but there is only 1 Caleb Downs (nobody is close to him in this draft)

the bills clown doesnt know anything

nobody plays a 3-4 defense anymore, it is not 1994. Everyone runs a 4-2-5 or 3-3-5.

Mostly everyone runs the 3-3-5 in 2025. And in that set Arvell Reese plays the strong side linebacker on early downs with versatility to dip down to edge DL or even middle pass rush in obvious passing situations ala Micah Parsons who lines up all over

Reese is a better fit for the NFL than he even is in college because of his size. he can stop the run in these nickel sets. BUT he will need to learn how to cover someone from time to time

I might be the only one but to me the difference between a guy like Arvell Reese and CJ Allen is minimal.

I shouldn't have even responded after I saw "off the ball". In no world is Reese nailed down to one position in one scheme.

There's a dropoff there for me. Granted, this is based on minimal in-season watching and mostly on tape/scouting reports but my conclusion is that Allen is smaller, slower and less aggressive. Less versatility. More of a traditional LB who plays the run and can blitz when asked to.

CJ Allen is smaller but he is one of the fastest LB in college football for sure. We will wait until the combine but I feel his measurable will shock people and he will rise.

Speed was the wrong word... closing speed is more accurate. Allen is a linebacker from Georgia, he's going to be a great player. I'd rather have the swiss army knife style guy though.

What do you guys think about David Bailey from TT? Is he in the conversation for 2 along with likes of Reese and Bain?

I’m not sure if there’s a player that would warrant another team trading up, but seeing as we are not getting a franchise QB this year I’d love to see us trade down and amass another first rounder for next year.

Extremely good pass rusher, below average in the run game. I think he'll be good but Reese's skillset is really hard to pass up IMO.

I can get on board with that. Reese/Downs would be huge. Would basically be like replacing Quinnen/Sauce immediately although different positions.

Reese is very under sized to be just an edge rusher. Is he better as a true backer than Sonny styles or cj Allen? I’m not sure he is either.

I’d stay away from him at 2

Bain, all day. He's way more impactful and consistent as a true pass rusher. Not to mention he's also very good with the interior rush. Reese is too raw and the potential word is getting thrown around too much. Pro over Po.

Did you watch Bailey? When I watched Oregon St game focusing on Moore of course (lol) I noticed this fucked disrupted a lot, sacked him, had bunch of batted balls. Hit him too, hit him. I thought to myself who is this guy! Then I checked his stats and I see 23 QB hits this year, 15 sacks, high pressure rate. He is a little heavier than Reese too, though not as big as Bain. According to PFF and Connor ROdgers run game drastically improved from last year, where he is not great like Bain, but quite good now. Not sure if true or not, @BroadwayAaron mentioned run game is not quite there still, but man 15 sacks and 23 QB hits, 21% pressure rate sure do sound good.

Bain appears to be a little less in each of these categories, but again, these are stats plus 1 game which I watched. I did watch Bain too in play-offs, but was focusing on QBs and he did not pop off like Bailey did. Wonder what people think who watched both.

2 has to be one of the 3 edge rushers. Take your pick and finally have a guy who can terrorize QBs.

16 I think I'd go defense again and take Surratt at 33. Personally there's not much difference between Surratt and Lemon, I know it's an unpopular opinion.

Maybe 44 you go QB? I don't know, this team has so many holes and it's not worth reaching for a QB this year.
