So many options tbh Davis mills, Howell, McKee we don’t need a barn burner just someone not named Fields who can actually throw for 200 yards
There is absolutely no way we are giving a second for McKee. When you are a 6th round pick, who started 2 career games, one of which was bad, no one is giving a second round pick. He hurt his trade value a lot in the last game. When you have sample size this small, a full NFL start counts for a lot. He did have a good preseason, and he also filled in a couple of times and did well throwing a few passes here and there, but given the last game, we might get him for a 4th. And I do like him, I think I was the first one who brought him up here actually, but I would not describe getting him as exciting though, @Rockinz More like pickings are ridiculously slim and we are in a sad state where McKee could be our best short and long term option. Might as well throw a very very long shot dart.
The more I consider it I'm out on Willis. There are a lot of teams that need a QB and won't be in position or won't want to pick one next year. Willis absolutely will not sign a one year deal, he has way too much of a market. Not to mention he will want no less than Fields money and I really don't want to do that again. He will find a team that will anoint him the starter and it will be a far better opportunity than the NYJ
There are two teams you should never take QBs from if they've only looked good while playing for those two teams: Niners, Packers. No to Mac Jones, no to Malik Willis (when considering the price)
Not that many options I am afraid and not very good ones, while plenty of teams trying to get them, willing to overpay by a lot. Which is why I think Simpson declared. There will be 1st round takers, I am almost positive on that, and I think he might even go top 10. I actually think if he is there at 16, the Jets might take him too. Our QB situation IS that sad.
Let it be that sad, I've prepared myself for a tank season even though it's January lol. Let's just get a QB in name only that is cheap and can hold a football. Trade out of 2 (wont get much but anything is better than nothing) and add picks to 27 and build this team up for our new coach and QB next year.
Yeah I feel the same…I’d say a HARD NO to Mac Jones…that is fools gold right there and he would be terrible here like he’s been everywhere else outside of SF. I don’t know enough about Malik Willis, but is he the guy who was originally with Tennessee and didn’t look good there at all? If this is that player, then I’d say pass on that as well for the same reason. LeFleur and that team is a great place for a QB but I don’t think we’d see that guy here. I’d be much more inclined to trade for Davis Mills even if it’s a 3rd round pick…I wouldn’t trade our 2nd round pick for him and not even sure I’d trade pick 44 for him either, but a 3rd yeah I’d do that. If that doesn’t fly, then I guess we’re looking at Mariotta, Howell, or a potential trade for McKee but that shouldn’t be higher than a 4th No good options out there, but to me, I say HELL NO to Murray and Jones…I’d rather go with whatever other scrub we can dredge up and tank the season if that gets AG gone
Aaron Rodgers is available. he played on a 1 year deal in Pittsburgh. I dont see them trying to resign him with a whole new staff and everything anyway. Wouldn't that be funny on multiple levels if the Jets signed him to a cheap-o 1 year deal
I wouldn't give a 2nd either, but the Eagles are not desperate to move Mckee. I'd do it for the Jets 4th (pick 103), but the Dolphins who have been linked to Mckee might be willing to give up one of their 3rds I suspect (pick 87 and 90). We'll see.
They are not desperate, but Roseman is always a step ahead. He would want to trade McKee before he leaves for nothing. They have McCord in the pipeline and they have a starter already, they need a solid back-up whom they can sign if they are not sold on McCord or could even draft another one with late pick. I agree though, he might not want to do it for a 4th, but it will depend on who else is interested.
This is a super lazy take but if I had to pick a QB from the 27 class right now, I'm going with Arch. His athleticism really surprised me in the Bowl game against Michigan.
He's got sick wheels, no doubt. But can he stay in the pocket and beat you consistently? Can he be accurate for the better part of a full college season and make plays against the best comp in clutch situations? I like Arch's potential but he's gotta show out more consistently as a true pocket QB next season. The running aspect is gravy and no QB runs consistently for too long in the NFL without consequence. That has been proven out time and again.
With his pedigree, teams will be lining up. The funny thing is that many people who hate on Moore would love to draft Arch and yet they really had similar seasons with highs and lows.
