They should lose a draft pick. Did they fairly honor the Rooney rule? They’re the organization Flores sued for a faux interview a couple years ago too.
Harbaugh and the Ravens should’ve been fine more than they were for the bullshit injury reporting they’ve done on Lamar over the last couple years. He’s an overrated coach. The Ravens are plug and play with a coach because they have the best front office in terms of drafting and talent evaluation in the NFL. They do not miss on virtually any picks they make especially early outside of receiver which they have always had a hard time figuring out. They also always prioritize the trenches which makes them tough late in the year. He’d definitely be better than what we have and what we’ve had but let’s see him go 12-5 without the best players on the field at almost all times.
Bingo. Harbaugh and the FO share the credit and the FO will win out for providing him the pieces. And with stars all over the roster he hasn’t made any noise in half a decade. It’ll be a fascinating watch. Giants have some pieces, far from all the pieces, and it’s not like the pieces in place are locks by any means. Does a guy who doesn’t call plays or run an offense get Dart over the hump? I guess it’s on Monken.
It will really help them in FA though, we would have to pay twice as much for the same FA. Hope we don't have to compete with them for any, same taxes and what not. Even the perception of having a great coach helps immensely.
Looks on paper at least like a great hire by the Giants - I haven't been positive about a Jets coaching move since they brought in Rex (even if it ended badly)
I called it as soon as he became available. The Giants may never win a super bowl with him, but he's going to turn that organization into an annual, competitive, winning team. The Jets on the other hand...... we all know that story.
I think what you two are missing is, since Coughlin left the Giants, they've basically been one and a half tiers above the Jets in full blown ineptitude. If I'm the Mara's & Tisch, this is a stepping stone back to respectability. MAYBE he fails but I highly doubt it. You two, if any on this board, should know better about separation of the FO and HC. I don't give a crap WHO is running your FO, you don't last 18 years in this business unless you are GOOD. HC, DC, OC, position coaches, basically insert ANY position related to an NFL franchise. I mean, take our own ramblings about our own situation on this very board. What goes on in the FO is only half the equation. What goes on, within the confines of that field, is all Harbaugh and who he assembles. You know, there are two types of successful HC's. The kind, like Andy Reid, McVay or Shanahan who are, literally, X's and O's geniuses. The other is the kind that Glenn is bullshitting us of what he's trying to be which is more the CEO type that knows how to assemble a staff and lead men. The Harbaugh's & Tomlin's of the world. Good coaches, who do understand the X's and O's but are far more about assembling the OC and DC and letting them run the show with bits of input from the HC here and there. Let's be honest here, if any block of Fans have really, really learned how much COACHING MATTERS, it's us. We just witnessed players who were quite good to serviceable regress to the point where the lot of us are wondering if these men should even be IN the NFL. Coaching matters. Maybe we're just a little "butt hurt" that Harbaugh went to the Giants instead of our useless turd of an owner actually doing anything beneficial for this team.
Of course and he’d be better than anything we have and we’d pay him a truckload of money to drag us back to mediocrity. But he’s overrated across the entire landscape of the NFL. He’d didn’t resurrect the Ravens though. They made the playoffs at a 50% clip in the prior 8 years before that and won a SB.
Harbaugh is a good coach. Very innovative. Its wrong to say he's overrated. This is a good move for the Giants and also it sticks it to the Eagles where Harbaugh cut his teeth so I imagine they like that part of it too
They always were, it's never been Jets stadium, we've always been the red headed step child with down syndrome .
