I have posted on here enough to finally have my conclusions drawn up for this upcoming year. The biggest issue the Jets are facing right now is a PR Crisis (mixed with a lack of a QB)...see below.

Coach: For all of you saying fire Aaron Glenn and Get Harbaugh, news flash...he ain't coming. We got Glenn as our HC because nobody else wanted to come here. You think Ben Johnson was coming here? And this year would be no different. I am actually glad they are keeping Glenn, it would have been a PR nightmare to fire him. We know we will suck next year, so might as well keep him. Nobody is lining up at the door to coach Dante Moore either it would appear.

GM: He had a good Y1 draft and some solid FA signings. I think in terms of W/L it was wrong to move on from Rogers and attach yourself to Justin Fields. However, I think this issue is way beyond that. When you miss on Zac Wilson and then try and patch up everywhere else and still have top 10 picks, it comes to a boiling point eventually. Good for him to strip this down to the studs and try again. The question remains do they deal Breece Hall, JJ, etc. He has earned more time here and boy does he have his work cut out for him.

Free Agents: Same as the coaches above, every year we think we will get top FA and we don't. I remember when CJ Mosley signed here, it was like he was sold on the future with Sam. We are in such a PR nightmare, idk who is honestly signing here next year. It would need to be a huge overpay and we need to make sure the character is there...ir Trumaine Johnson. We can't have that go on. I am just hoping for some solid role players from FA, even though we have a ton of cash to spend.

Dante Moore: It's fun to play these draft games and overreact to every game (Dante Moore vs Indiana). For all of the naysayers about Moore, I think we need to be honest with ourselves...how does a guy like Josh Allen get picked outside of the Top 10? What about Jordan Love? How in the world can I guy like Jalen Hurts win a super bowl? Brock Purdy? Tua at 13? What I am saying is there have only been so many Joe Burrow's/Andrew Luck's who are ready to go on day 1. The issue here is do we have a lame duck HC, who will mess up his development? Only they will know if he has it in between the ears to be drafted and succeed in the NFL but he needs to sit and sit for a long time. I've heard names like Arch and Sayin in 27? They are kids too, it will take them years to get their feet under them in the NFL too and they are not a sure bet either. If you have a chance to land an elite talent, you pick him at #2 and don't look back. Ideally, you sign a starter who likes to Mentor people and is similar skill set to Moore/hope you can win some games. Maybe we let him loose in December 2026, we will see.

Mock Draft 2026: No trades for simplicity
    1(2)-Dante Moore QB Oregon
    1(16)-Sonny Styles. LB OSU
    2-(1)-Dillon Thienaman. S Oregon
    2-(44): Elijah Sarratt. WR Indiana

We are looking at another awful season next year. If there is a chance for a haul of picks, it has to be considered. I look at us like the patriots a few years back. They did a nice job of filling out depth on roster before Maye-Campbell and the RB came on board. It won't be pretty this next year and I would love for them to win, I just hope they don't do anything stupid...trade picks for Kyler Murrary, rush Dante Moore, etc. knowing Glenn is on the hot seat. This is where competent top down ownership matters. Give Glenn a reasonable QB next year and a rookie, try and fill out the roster as best you can. If we pick Top 5 again, see ya.

I like the nature of this post as an all encompassing look at where we are.

    My thoughts:

Coach: I disagree on Glenn here…I totally agree that Harbaugh will have better options and would most likely not choose us. We have a shitty owner that even Belichick way back when has already said he wasn’t comfortable working for…whatever he saw he was right…must have spotted a fucking moron from miles away. However, I think that having so many first round picks and a bunch of cap space is a pretty unique opportunity that should be enticing at some level. There is no reason why a competent coach with so many picks and cap space shouldn’t be able to make a pretty significant impact pretty quickly. Whether that opportunity is enough to lure a good candidate we’ll never know unless we try. I am VERY down on Glenn, not because we only won 3 games, but because of how we looked doing it…and while I get we started an undrafted QB once the tank was really on, it’s no excuse because we looked just as bad early in the year. I have been disgusted watching this team, we’ve all seen it so I don’t have to lay it out, but this guy is in the conversation with names like Kotite and Gase. It’s THAT bad. Or to put it another way…would anyone want to hire either Kotite or Gase again? I’m SURE the answer is a fucking HELL NO. Ok, well AG is in that category. He has shown us nothing to give us any confidence that he can turn this around. Nothing. Let’s not waste another year to confirm it. We have a great chance to scrub the decks clean…start fresh with a bunch of draft picks and cap space, and let’s get a guy in here. Call McCarthy, Kingsbury, Kubiak, Stefanski and take ANY one of these guys…don’t know they’d succeed or not, but they break the mold of what we’ve done…McCarthy and Stefanski are playoff coaches, Kingsbury knows how to develop a QB, and Kubiak, while obviously not an HC, just may want to choose a rookie QB and roll. I’d take ANY of these guys and RUN to sign that contract. I know Woody won’t do it, but it’s what we SHOULD do. So no, I don’t agree that we should just keep an all time terrible guy in AG because we don’t think we can get better.

GM: Agree on him for the most part…had a solid if not spectacular draft with a few good picks in Membou, Taylor and Moore, potentially a decent corner in AZ, so we’ll see…I didn’t understand the WR who can’t catch pick but can’t hit on them all I guess. The trades I hated to see good players leave but I can’t argue with the return so I have to live with it. I’d be happier with it if we actually used these picks to attract a new HC, but it is what it is. I’m ok with Mougey so far but these next two drafts clearly will make or break his tenure here.

Free Agents: Agree again…this is not a “go to” destination for sure…there is absolutely a fucking stink on this franchise and rightfully so…which is yet another reason why I think AG should be let go. At least bringing in a different guy, especially if it’s a guy like McCarthy or Stefanski (not going to pipe dream about Harbaugh) would make a huge difference. So yeah, we need so much depth that a more low key approach to get solid role players on DL, WR, CB, S, LB would go a long way.

Draft: who knows? I get Moore’s potential but watching that playoff game, man, he’s not ready. I have zero faith that the Jets in general, and AG in particular, do not know how to develop a QB. We’ve never done it outside of Joe Namath…Ken O’Brien and Pennington were good QBs we drafted, but both were pretty polished coming out, especially Penny. We’ve tried with Sanchez, Zach, and Darnold and failed every time…granted the only one of those guys who was real was Darnold, but we just never seem to learn from our mistakes. I think it’s be safer to either take a stud positional player or trade out of #2 and then maybe grab a QB like Mateer or Chambliss if he ends up declaring later, but that’s really only because I don’t think AG is the guy to develop a more raw QB like Moore. I would understand the pick as I do think you gotta keep trying until you find the QB, but man it’d be a VERY long shot for it to work here with Moore. I wouldn’t cry too much if that’s what we do, but I’m not sure it’s the best move…I know it’s not the safest move for sure.

All in all, I think I’m as down as I’ve ever been on this team…I feel totally 100% hopeless with Woody and this coaching staff. I think we are going to suck next year if we stay this course, and I think it’s not going to be any kind of fast turnaround, which is actually a shame because there are PLENTY of examples of teams turning it around quickly. Shit, NE just did it by replacing a shitty HC with a very good one. But Woody is an idiot so we are stuck with AG.

I've said this many times: The ONLY Head Coach candidate with ANY real NFL HC experience that would welcome coming to the Jets is Rex Ryan. Period.

Just because you say it, doesn’t make it true. Didn’t McCarthy want to come here years ago before he took the Dallas job a couple years ago?

    Analogy:

The NFL plays in orbit around Mercury, but the NY Jets are orbiting Pluto drifting around with no clue, no real purpose, no future, and especially no resemblance to anything that goes on around Mercury. We are that far away.

I listen to Tannblowhard the other day talk about the Jets plan.... I had to laugh because if I was the interviewer I would have told him that planning is the right approach but its the execution that matters Mr. T.. Something this HC can not accomplish...he is an abject failure as a HC and IMHO has not changed the "losing" culture that has metastsize in the franchise. I would posulate that he, like 79 said, is as bad if not worse then RK and AG.

Frankly, I would rank him second to RK... BUT he did accomplished something got woody to not attend games :).

This is hilarious, Mike has to defend him because his firm hired him. His firm that has only helped with the Glenn hiring so far and how many owners hired the 33rd team to help with their 9 searches? None, 33rd team had one hire and it was historically bad, the callers are just as hard on him as Jake
