If we can get a 2nd or 3rd for him, do it now. Breece needs a change of scenery and we can easily find a back to replace him. He's not worth the cap hit. We're in rebuild mode. Makes no sense to invest so much into him when you can find a young, good RB for much cheaper for a few years.

He's not under contract with the Jets. That ship has sailed.

Nobody was offering a 2nd or 3rd at any point btw.

Even better, then draft a young RB and call it a day. Buh-bye, Breece.

If the Jets are planning on drafting Moore, I think you absolutely extend/tag Breece. With the cap space this team has this year and next, I dont see any need to not give Moore a pretty damn good RB. He had almost 1400 yards rushing and receiving, which looks like top 15-ish in the league by my count.

Give him a couple years, and then let him walk when he's like 28.

Exactly. One year of Hall can help evaluate ANY QB.

He's a free agent, so we'd have to sign him long term (if he wants to stay) - or we could franchise him. I think since we have absolutely no other players to even consider with the tag, we should franchise him. No other real talent, no guys at the end of contracts - so he's an obvious choice for it. It'll piss him off, but it will also motivate him to go off so he can get a contract next year.

I agree with the Franchise Taggers. Come to think of it, when do the Jets ever tag anyone? No names come to mind. I really like Breece. As someone with media friends I've been lucky enough to be around him a couple times. Solid guy. I felt the same way about Quinnen. I'd like for one of them to still be around. By the way, Q has an interest in fashion photography if you can believe it.

Breece is still young. He turns 25 in May.

Easily replaceable. Not worth re-signing for $10M when we can get a young back in the draft and use that cap space to address other areas of the team. This is not the time to be committing that much money to a RB. And btw, I consider Breece an "old" 25. Between his injury history and playing behind this horrible line (before this season which was an improvement but still) and horrible team for a few years, it ages you much quicker.

He’s not easily replaceable. Also it would be nice to use the draft to fill holes on the roster instead of making another one to fill

Yeah he actually is. He's not that good. Doesn't even look that explosive to me anymore. Looks like he lost some of that. It would be nice to fill even more roster holes with that cap space that re-signing him would eat up. There is absolutely no need to sign a RB who has a lot of tread on his tires for a young guy when you can re-invest in several positions and still get another RB in the draft or FA.

I’m somewhere in the middle here. Breece is a solid RB in this league, but he’s regarded much higher here sometimes than his talent or output indicates he is.

If he wasn’t a whiney bitch, I’d definitely want him back even at the premium price he’d demand. We have the space and you’ll generally structure a guy like that so he’s cuttable after year 2.

He’s a malcontent though and has been for two years even if it sometimes seems subtle to us. I’d much rather sign Tyler Allgeier and take a back in the mid rounds. Isaiah Davis and Allen fight for the 3 spot or keep 4 and Davis has to be the kick returner.

I just don’t think he wants to be here. He’s been making business decisions for too long and running out of bounds rather than cutting back to get more yards for too long. Clearly not a locker room leader either.

As bad as this defense is I would draft 5 linebackers/defensive linemen before I even considered drafting a running back. Especially since you have a solid one already here. Just resign him, one less hole to worry about

That's been frustrating at times but also, it's a good business decision. He's been healthy 3 years in a row.

Braelon Allen doesn't run out of bounds. He rams his head directly into defenders. He was broken in September. Availability is important

What about all his social media complaints and indications that he wants to move on?

Allen got hurt on a kickoff return. That’s hardly a fair comparison.

If they don't retain Breece and had any inclination he didn't want to be here then not taking the 4th from KC is just another knock on this staff.

Well that’s dumb. It helped completely divide the Eagles locker room to the point where their best player tried to fight a coach on the sidelines during a playoff game they lost.

If we know Breece isn’t happy here, I’m sure the locker room knows a lot more about it.
